Musicians will perform stripped-down ar- rangements of the songs of Queen. Perform- ers include Birds & Arrows, Reese McHenry, Rich McLaughlin, Mimi McLaughlin, Stevie Murtaugh, The Alcazar Hotel, Norm Under- wood, New Town Drunks, Stu Cole, Grif- fanzo, the Bopeeps, Jane Francis, Jess Don- nell, Radar’s Clowns of Sedation, Hwyl, John Pardue, Jim Smith, Mara Thomas, Nathan Logan, Burke Hilburn, Simeon, Richard Klecka and Loose Screws. In addition, there will be 12 Freddie portraits on display at Fuse through the month of Sep- tember. The art will be available for sale, with profits to benefit the Mercury Phoenix Trust. Members of Queen and their manager, Jim Beach, formed the Mercury Phoenix Trust Fund in honor of Queen front-man Freddie Mercury, who died of AIDS-related causes in 1991. Since 1992, the trust has donated more than $15 million to the fight against AIDS. Audience members and performers are encouraged to dress like Freddie and have a Freddie day. Prizes will be awarded for the best Freddie costumes. The music starts at 9:30 p.m. at Fuse, located at 403 W. Rosemary St. The sug- gested donation is $10. To donate without attending, visit justgiving.com/Freddiefo- raDay. For more information about the event, visit mercuryphoenixtrust.com PHOTO: Styling, make-up by Diane Koistenen.
