Father Bogdan’s Corner This weekend parishioners from the movement for life are collecting signatures to ban Dismemberment Abortion. More information can be found in the bulletin. Mr. Gary Zilli is going to lead our parishioners in the Alpha Program that will start after summer vacation. Registration forms for this spiritual exercise are available at the doors of the church. We all must be alert in the church and everywhere we go of catastrophic situations: fire, floods, earthquakes, vandalism, violent attacks, or even terrorist attacks. Therefore, we must have a few men and women at each Mass on the weekend to be visible, trained and ready to help us in the case of these mentioned disasters. Jim McKnight and I have identified a few people who are willing and capable to go for the training and commit themselves to be visible at the Masses and ready to help us. It’s a great ministry to protect “sheep in our pasture”. As summer continues, I wish all of you nice weather, prosperous times and for those who are on motorcycles, cars or even bikes please be very careful. We often hear about tragic accidents. I want you to be safe. God Bless You!
Fr. Bogdan

Prayer for the Next Phase of
Unleash the Gospel
Heavenly Father, Thank you for the abundant graces of Synod 16: for
awakening in us the vision and resolve to become again your Church on mission, eagerly working together to
“make disciples of all nations,” according to our commission from the Lord Jesus
Pour out upon us your Holy Spirit, as a new Pentecost to guide us in our next phase in our movement to Unleash the Gospel. By his power at work in us,
transform our parishes into bands of joyful missionary disciples.
Come Holy Spirit: Set our hearts on fire to share the Good News of
Jesus with all those who stumble in darkness, who hunger for hope, who thirst for eternal life. Above all, grant us the boldness and courage
of the apostles to put the mission above all else, so that our community becomes the spark
to ignite the fire of divine love that transforms this time and this place into the Kingdom of Heaven.
We pray through the intercession of Our Lady, Star of the New Evangelization, and her mother, our Patron, St. Anne, and in the spirit of Blessed Solanus we thank you ahead of time for “accomplishing in us far more than all
we ask or imagine.”
We ask all of this in the all-powerful name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns forever.
Amen
During June, we were able to provide food for 46 families, totaling 122 people; this includes our food pantry day. We are low on small jars of jam, canned fruit, laundry detergent, and toilet tissue. Thank you for your continued generosity. You are helping us help those in need. If anyone requires assistance of any kind, please call our office at 586-773-9231.

ALPHA IS COMING TO ST. FAUSTINA
What is Alpha? Alpha is a program originally developed by the Anglican Church in the late 1970s to help new Christians grow in their faith. In 1990 they decided to expand the purpose of Alpha by inviting people to attend the program who had little or no knowledge of who Jesus is and to Christians who for one reason or another stopped participating in church services and events. Like the Catholic Church, their numbers were rapidly declining. Is Alpha endorsed by the Catholic Church? Yes, the Catholic Church endorses Alpha. As we Unleash the Gospel here in the Archdiocese of Detroit, Alpha is just one tool to help awaken faith in lapsed Catholics. It has been a proven method of introducing people to a living relationship, a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. What does the Alpha Program consist of? Alpha is a series of 11 sessions and a day retreat that explores the basics of the Christian faith. Each session looks at a different question that people can have about faith and is designed to create conversation. It’s just an open, informal and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together. Hopefully, it will move many of us to go deeper into the teachings of our Catholic faith by participating in programs offered at St. Faustina like Bible Study, catechesis offered through RCIA, our Religious Education Program, and Matthew Zinser’s Program.

Alpha Program (continued from page 5)
Who can attend? Anyone and everyone!! Alpha is designed for non-believers, devout Christians and anyone in between. What is the cost to attend? IT’S FREE! How do I register to attend? At each entrance of the church you will find registration forms. Please fill out the form and place it in the tray labeled “Attending Alpha.” Feel free to take some forms home to give to friends and family members you would like to invite. Since this is the first time St. Faustina will offer Alpha, we are limiting the number who can attend. But don’t worry, we plan to continue offering Alpha in the future. God Bless, Gary Zilli
DISMEMBERMENT ABORTION
Do you want to help end the DISMEMBERMENT ABORTION procedure? (DISMEMBERMENT is also called Dilation and Evacuation, or D & E.) DISMEMBERMENT is a barbaric form of abortion, frequently used during the second trimester, (generally around 20 to 24 weeks of gestation), when the body of the new human life is too big to be extracted by suction. The little human body is literally dismembered alive in their mother’s womb by the abortionist who uses pulling and crushing instruments to rip apart the little body. The abortionist then re-assembles the little human body on a tray to assure the removal of all parts from the mother’s womb. The frequency of DISMEMBERMENT ABORITONS is scandalously high. For example, there were 26,594 abortions performed in Michigan in 2017 and 1,777 of them were DISMEMBERMENT ABORTIONS, (4-5 per day). Our Michigan Senators and Representatives have passed legislation making it illegal to use the barbaric DISMEMBER-MENT procedure in the state of Michigan. However, our governor has promised to veto the bill. But, we, the people of Michigan, are permitted by the Michigan constitution to petition a ballot proposal to by-pass the governor’s veto. But, such a petition requires the signatures of 400,000 people who are already registered to vote in the state of Michigan. The Michigan Senate and House have indicated they will vote to support the petition just as they have already voted to support the legislation. Michigan Pro-Life petition drives have had a successful tradition in the past; and we can do it again! So, please consider saving over 1,700 human lives a year by helping others collect the signatures after a Mass on July 13-14. Please call Kathy Wroblewski at (586) 764-3697 for further details. Thank you.
