From the Pastor:

My dear friends in Christ,

With John's arrest, Jesus continued the Baptist's proclamation: “Repent and believe the good news that God's reign is at hand.” As Jesus preached along the Sea of Galilee, he called four fishermen to be His first disciples. Simon and his brother Andrew immediately responded to Jesus' call. A pair of brothers, James and John, left their family and livelihood to follow Him. Jesus promised His disciples that they would be instruments to spread the Gospel throughout the world. During their journey together, they would discover that there were no half-measures to serving the Lord. Faith demands conversion and repentance, not just once but as a lifelong process. Sometimes faith requires a new way of thinking and a conversion of heart.

We are currently engaged in that new way of thinking within our parish, within our cohort, within our Deanery, and within our Diocese. New ideas that come from the community of The Faithful are what help to make a parish grow. I must admit that the good people of Corpus Christi Parish are never at a loss for ideas. Some are good, some are unrealistic, but at least there is an interest in the future of this parish. I am always willing to listen to whatever you think can make our parish grow. I am always willing to listen to how we can position Corpus Christi to be a viable parish into the future. We have done many wonderful things here (thanks to your work and dedication), and I hope we continue to work together to make our parish a place where people “want” to come to worship, receive the sacraments (like confession) and praise Our Lord.

May God bless you all!

Father John

2018 MARCH FOR LIFE EVENT … TOMORROW Events held in Washington, DC and The Diocese of Trenton as part of the March for Life observance continue with the following:

• Post-March, Pro-Life Mass celebrated by Bishop O’Connell in advance of the Trenton State House Rally scheduled in Saint Mary of The Assumption Cathedral, Trenton, Monday, January 22nd, 9:30 AM.

Bishop O’Connell encourages participation in both the March in DC or the local observances in the Diocese that together provide the opportunity for a strong and prayerful statement of one’s support for human life. Since the favor of a plenary indulgence granted from the Holy See is a privilege, Bishop O’Connell has extended this privilege to include the January 22 Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral, a “sacred celebration” which brings Diocesan participation in this year’s March for Life events to a close.

END OF YEAR TAX STATEMENTS If you would like to receive a statement substantiating your donations to Corpus Christi Church for the 2017 calendar year, please call the Rectory office at 609.877.5322 to make a request as statements are mailed upon request only.
