Economic Failures of Frank and Khaiyum!!!!!

Score Card of Misery, Deceit and false Promises

1. Raising investment levels to 25 percent of GDP? (FAIL)

2. Growing the economy by 5 percent annually? (FAIL) - Four years of Economic Decline (2007 – 2010) compared to six years of growth under the elected government (2001- 2006)

3. Reducing the rate of poverty to a negligible level? (FAIL) - Poverty level in both rural and urban areas throughout Fiji is now at unprecedented level of 45% and is expected to escalate to 60% by 2014.

4. Reducing fiscal deficits? (FAIL) (opposite being done)

5. Reducing Government debt? (FAIL) (opposite being done) - Public Debt increased under from $2.8b to $3.5b in 2010 and is projected to reach 5b in 2014.

6. Maintaining inflation at around 2-3 percent on average? (FAIL) (inevitably)

Investor confidence lowest-ever with liquidity at record levels.(reference: Bank of Baroda) 20% devaluation of the Fiji dollar spiralling rise in food prices by up 400%. Increase in Vat to 15% has driven thousands into poverty as cost of living surges. FNFP board of Bainimarama wasted $1.3b of workers money in failed investments like Momi and

Natadoloa projects. Sugar industry on verge of collapse with sugar production down to 139,000 tonnes, FSC has been delisted

from stock exchange owing over $200 million in loans, $350m EU aid lost as Fiji failed to hold elections in 2009.
