June 4 - “Precursors to Revival” June 11 - “A Longing for Holiness” June 18 - “A Crisis of Faith” June 25 - “The Necessity of Grace” July 2 - “Works of Mercy” July 9 - “Persevering to the End”

The Family Closet In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus tells the Parable of the Sheep

and the Goats. Part of this parable says that we will be

blessed when we clothe those who are in need.

The Family Closet does just that. We provide clothing and

a warm welcome to individuals and families throughout

the area who are in need. It also provides us an

opportunity to "Go Green" by recycling gently-worn

clothing as well as new clothing. This service is offered for

free, although donations are welcome, and is available every Saturday from 9-12.

This ministry serves an average of 20-30 people each week. Staffers to rotate Saturday mornings are always

welcome and needed.

If you would like to be included in the weekly volunteer rotation, please contact

the Church office (684-2472) or Jane Hyde (814-684-3757)

Volunteers are also always needed to sort and staff the Family Closet on a weekly basis.

Our church provides financial assistance to two missionary families. Brian and Jerilyn White, along with their three children, are serving with Macedonian Call in Uganda. Cristy and Randy Shearer serve in Austria with TWR Europe. Please remember both families and their ministries in prayer.

FROM MISSION CENTRAL: Thinking Outside of the Box Jared and Jenna McIntire both love animals and will care for them as part of their life’s work. Both were involved in Future Farmers of America and 4H during their school years. They both received a de-gree in agriculture from Penn State. Jared assists farmers at the Cum-berland County Conservation District and works with his uncle in rais-ing turkeys. Jenna teaches high school students to care for animals as part of the agriculture curriculum.

Their wedding was July 9, 2016. When their guests sat down at their places during the reception, they found an animal-shaped lollipop as a favor. On it was a tag: “A donation has been sent to the Heifer Project with the money we would have spent for formal flower arrangements for the wedding and reception.” Instead of formal arrangements, each table was graced with a few lovely flowers, simply arranged in glass containers, by the groom’s sister.

The Heifer Project seeks to address global hunger by placing an animal with a family of few resources and trains the new owners to raise and

use the animal to improve their own nutrition, as well as to sell surplus products for the betterment of their family’s lives. The unique request is that the family shares the first offspring with another family, so that many persons can be helped. Heifer operates by many principles that lead to a just, less hungry and peaceful world.
