Presents Robo CS Introduction Time has changed, men are no more directly indulged in war but have loyal robots always ready to sacrifice themselves for their masters. Space pirates are fighting on a distant planet for the loot, this is your chance to earn some money. So be prepared with your manual Robot, a machine that can traverse through any terrain to reach the battleground before your foe and can unleash the terror. Use all your force to destroy the enemy even before they can understand the situation and the prize is yours. Rules and Regulations 1. A team can have members from different colleges. 2. A team can have maximum five members. 3. Judges’ decision will be final and binding to all. 4. Certificates of excellence will be awarded to top three teams only. 5. You will be provided with 220V 50 HZ AC power. 6. You can’t supply more than 120W power to your robot. 7. Voltage must not be more than 24V between any two points. 8. If robot is supplied with AC power, RMS voltage between any two points can’t be greater than 24V. 9. You can use either wired or wireless media to control your robot, however you will not be provided any extra point for using wireless or wired media. If using wireless media your must be able to work at least at two different frequencies so as to prevent frequency conflicts. 10. Organizers reserve the right to change any rules or make new as they deem fit. 11. Robot must fit into a box of dimension 50cmX40cmX20cm, however it can expand later during gameplay. 12. All teams must submit their final codes (if any).

  • 13. Use of pneumatic and hydraulics is allowed.

    14. Pneumatics can only use non-inflammable gases, maximum allowed outlet nozzle pressure is 8

    Bar.

    15. Hydraulics can only use non-inflammable liquids.

    16. Robots are not allowed to fly.

    17. Any kind of explosive or flame based system is not allowed.

    18. Radio jammers are not allowed.

    19. Robots must not weigh more than 10Kg.

    Game Play

    1. At a time two robots will simultaneously be introduced in the Arena, one bot will start from

    block A while other will start from block B.

    2. Robots will travel through the specified path to reach the battleground.

    3. First robot to reach battleground will be awarded 30 points.

    4. 5 points will be deducted if any robot touches red coloured k blocks.

    5. 100 points will be awarded if robot is controlled by hand gestures only, however you can use

    switches/buttons/joystick etc. once robot reaches battleground.

  • After reaching Battleground

    For first year participants (All team members must be in first year of their UG

    course) Once both Robots reaches battleground, they will be playing violent football, for duration of 10

    minutes.

    1. Both robots can strike each other, however no extra point will be provided for that.

    2. Ball is standard Table Tennis ball made of air filled celluloid, with diameter 40mm and weight

    2.7 gram.

    3. Both robots need to score goal, goal post size is 60cmX30cm, 30 points will be awarded for

    scoring each goal.

    4. You cant use hands/hooks etc. to pick up the ball, ball cant remain in direct contact with robot

    for more than 10 seconds.

    5. If at the end of the game, both teams have same number of points, game will be played for

    extra 5 minutes.

    For other year participants Once both robots reaches battleground, they will be placed at 1m apart, they can go back to arena but

    cant get further in the battle ground. Both robots will then be provided 10 minutes.

    1. Bot starting from point A cant cross XY line and bot starting from point B isnt allowed to cross

    line PQ.

    2. Both robots need to shoot balls at his opponents, 30 points will be awarded if ball hits

    opponent.

    3. Ball is standard Table Tennis ball made of air filled celluloid, with diameter 40mm and weight

    2.7 gram.

    4. No point will be awarded if ball doesnt hit the opponent.

    5. A robot cant carry more than 15 balls at a time.

    6. To reload balls, robot can go behind goal post, where a human can help robot to reload, timer

    will stop once robot reaches behind the goal post, timer will continue once reload is successful.

    7. Only three reloads are allowed per team, for more reloads, 30 points will be deducted per

    reload.

    If at the end of the game, both teams have same number of points, game will be played for extra 5

    minutes.

  • Event Format

    Round 1: Abstract Submission The abstract of not more than 300 words describing the idea, work done and brief results and finding

    need to be submitted electronically at [email protected] with subject Team Name-

    Event name-Abstract Submission. Abstract must be submitted in .doc and .pdf format.

    Round 2: Elimination round This round will held in MNNIT campus, each team needs to traverse arena in 15 minutes to reach

    battleground. Each team will be given three chances only.

    Final Round Teams selected for the final round will be playing as stated above in gameplay.
