Work ExperienceWork Experience
Consultant1/5/09 - 7/1/09
In applying communications
strategies for development and after
working for the World Bank, I
discovered that climate change will
have a real impact on everybody’s
lives, and that it needs to be
communicated at a global level.
Now.
World Bank
Sr. PR & Media Specialist9/2007 -11/2008
After absorbing strategies for health
communication and working on behalf of
such a huge institution as LAC+USC, I
was able to create and communicate to
internal and external audiences a single
message “We Are Close to You”.

Press Counselor11/2001 -12/2006
“During his tenure at the Embassy of Peru in Washington, Mr. Pereira distinguished himself as an informed, professional and trusted intermediary between the press and his diplomatic mission. I found him to be an insightful and reliable source on issues affecting Latin America and north-south relations in the hemisphere. Overall, I would rate Mr. Pereira among the top press attaches I have met as a journalist in Washington.”
Philip BennetManaging Editor
The Washington Post
Working at the Embassy, I was able
to apply the concepts of public
diplomacy in reaching out to a
broad audience of journalists,
policymakers, private sector
leaders, NGOs and multilateral
organizations’ representatives.

Online communication is the ideal
platform to connect with the global
village, allowing messages to be
disseminated effectively across
cultures and peoples —but first, you
need to know your audience and
adopt their own language. Their
voice must be yours.

In practicing and enforcing the high standards of journalistic values,
I learned from colleagues and supervisors that seeking truth and

Short Stories
tú.
I´ve gone walking on the beaches of the Chesapeake. That walk has made
me think of a few things: the sand sifting through one’s hands, was it ever at
the bottom of the sea? And what will become of that bloody moon on the
horizon, almost kissing solid ground, when the Milky Way has gone forever?
The only permanent is the movement. And yourself.
JournalismJournalism
As a journalist, I’ve always tried
to create life-like atmospheres
through the written word,
choosing stories that have within
them the power to change our
view of the world.
