The county is one of the most industrialised counties in Romania.  There is one oil rafinery and two automobile plants at Mioveni - the Dacia Renault car plant, and at Câmpulung the Aro plant.  The predominant industries in the county are both in the automotive and chemical fields, followed by electrical equipment, home appliances, food, textiles and construction materials.

It was first mentioned in awritten Record in 1485. It developed much in the 1970safter the construction of theAutomobile Daciamanufacturing plant. Our little town is at almost 17-18 kilometres' distance ofPitesti, the residence of thecounty. The 5 districts of ourtown are: Mioveni, Colibasi,Racovita, Faget andClucereasa, in fact the namesof the small villages whichhave formed the actual town.
