1
Before there was Red Square Agency there was Sullivan-St. Clair, and before that, there was Reynolds
Sullivan. Further evolution was inevitable. And so it was that RSQ was born on August 1, 2013. Ingenuity,
agility and guts are the foundation of RSQ, and the work reflects intelligent thinking, solid strategy and
kick-ass design.
1977 was the year Richard Sullivan had the guts to go out on his own and create a business that would
stand the test of time and inspire a new generation. That same swagger is in our DNA and comes
through in our brand identity. A solid logo, monochromatic color palette and sophisticated printing
convey an effortless cool.
Our confident yet casual tone comes from our knowledge of an ever-evolving industry and our
inclination to study and do great work. We only take on clients who subscribe to our way of thinking and
have the fortitude to make a bold statement.
RSQ is a shop with chops, and we’re making stuff happen.

you can in that same four
hours in the afternoon.
Finding beauty in every day
makes life pretty awesome.

Red Square Agency Divided by Two Equals Red Square Gaming, RSQ and Hybrid
It’s new math. When the agency leaders decided to split the agency into two teams, it was decided that some people would have to cross over and work on both endeavors. It was also abundantly clear that there was value in the culture of Red Square Agency, and this culture would be shared between the new brands.
However, for these two new companies to grow, we would need to allow Red Square Agency’s identity to diminish. And so it was that the Hybrid team came into being on August 1, 2013. We pledge allegiance to both Red Square Gaming and RSQ, sharing our knowledge, strategies and Google docs for the advancement of both brands.
We also balance the books, make sure checks are cut on payday, establish policies, and provide the beer, snacks and parties for everyone to enjoy. And let’s be honest, it’s kind of why we get up in the morning and come to work every day.
So raise a glass to thoseof us who live in both worlds, strattling the brands like Jean Claude Van Damme in that Volvo spot. The talented, flexible and versatile team we call Hybrid.

LEGEN…wait for it…DARY. Stories from back in the day.Tall tales tend to grow even taller over time. If this had all gone down in 2014, it could be a Snapchat story or otherwise posted on social media, but then we wouldn’t get to embellish.
Blake is daughter to Richard and Mary and sister to Rich. Growing up, Rich used to pick on Blake by throwing her backpack over a fence into a yard with a ferocious dog. Rumor has it that when pitted against a pit bull, Blake won handily. She got her backpack back and eventually got back at Rich. When she graduated from The University of Alabama, she went to work for Sullivan-St. Clair as the office manager. According to Richard, she came in at 11:00, took a two hour lunch and left at 1:00. She sat right outside Rich’s and Richard’s offices, and the three were known to have shouting matches complete with many an f-bomb. Blake usually won. And even though she was fired more than once, she hit her stride in the PR department, far enough away from Rich’s and Richard’s offices. Rich got the last laugh when he disbanded the PR department and aluminum foiled her office. She was last seen on a Mardi Gras float.
Parkside is called Parkside because it was a home and garden store, and sold wonderful furnishings, candles and art. Sadly, they couldn’t make a go of it and closed up shop. Shortly thereafter, Parkside became home to Red Square Agency’s creative department when our numbers went from nine to 30-something people. Rather than cram a bunch of desks in the 202 building (ha!), we leased space on the corner of Conti and Conception. The white walls, natural light and open office concept were most conducive to creativity, and inspired our new office space. The downside was communication: even with chat, email and telephones, it was terrible. Not to mention the hazard to traffic when there was a thunderstorm. So in April of 2012, we packed up Parkside and crammed a bunch of desks in the 202 building. But Parkside will live on in our hearts (and our homes).

Because one elephant was not enough, Sullivan-St.Clair organized a homecoming event at the Delta Kappa Epsilon house on The University of Alabama campus that featured three elephants. It was bold. It was big. And it set a precedent for the way we do things around here.
Sullivan-St.Clair changed it’s name to Red Square Agency in 2008, and the move was met with a little opposition. Some people in Mobile felt like Red Square was paying homage to communism, and it just didn’t sit well. So Christmas that year, we decided to stage a guerilla stunt. We changed our name to Green Isosceles Triangle Agency everywhere—on our website, our emails, our signage—we even had triangle Christmas wreaths on the doors. We also hosted twelve days of webcasts and actually produced ridiculous segments that highlighted “Craft Time with J’Rett,” “All about Penguins with Kate Nichols” and “How to prepare a holiday dinner in a toaster oven hosted by Sarah Jones and Niki Lim.” We went to a lot of trouble, and very few people got the irony. A green isosceles triangle is the same shape as a Christmas tree and no, we weren’t really changing our name.
