WELCOME

Welcome to the NSWCCC Annual Rugby Selection Tournament. Throughout the two days, the

NSWCCC selectors will be choosing one U/16 and one U/18 Rugby Team to represent the NSW

Combined Catholic Colleges at the NSW All Schools Selections/Championships in June 2013.

The draw for this year’s tournament is included on the following pages.

We know that, as usual, many of you have made very long trips to be here and we thank you and the

members of your team for the hard work and time that you have put into preparing for this tournament.

We hope that the result is a carnival of hard but FAIR PLAY, enthusiasm, good sportsmanship, played

in the spirit of the catholic ethos.

We finally take great pleasure in thanking the St Gregory’s College and NSWSRU for their contribution

to the tournament.

NSWCCC RUGBY SPORT SPECIFIC RULES

ENTRY ELIGIBILITY

1 Players must be enrolled in a CSCC affiliated school. 2 Players must attend trials to be eligible for selection. 3 Any player attending the NSWCCC Trial must be available, if selected, to represent NSWCCC at the NSW All Schools Rugby Trials and/or any other event at which the selected NSWCCC team is participating.

DISPUTES 1 Judiciary – Send Off Rule

2 All Players and officials are expected to abide by the Laws of Rugby 3 Players currently under suspension in any Rugby Union competition will not be allowed to compete at the selection carnival 4 Any player who receives 2 temporary suspensions (yellow cards) in Carnival matches will

automatically receive a one match suspension from the carnival 5 Any player sent from the field for foul play (red carded) will need to appear before the NSWCCC

Rugby Selection carnival disciplinary panel who will determine (if necessary) an appropriate consequence. The panel will consist of the match referee, the NSWCCC Convener, and a representative of the NSWRU.

6 The disciplinary panel will be convened as required and players should be reminded that

foul play of any type will be dealt with appropriately LATE CHANGES Diocesan/Association team managers must inform the NSWCCC Convener ASAP and, above all else, ensure selectors have up-to-date information on each player and each team especially in terms of identifying each player.

UNIFORM/TEAM/IDENTIFICATION 1.The Team Manager from each participating team must supply a correct and detailed list of players to ensure an efficient, equitable and correct selection process 2 All players are to be allocated (one) 1 number and jumper by their diocese or association for the

duration of the carnival to avoid confusion with selections 5 If for some reason a player needs to change jumpers / number (ie blood or damage) this needs to be

immediately communicated to the selectors TEAM SELECTIONS 1 A team of 22 players will be selected for both the NSWCCC Under 18s and NSWCCC Under 16s

teams. 2 Selectors should also select a full side of shadows.These will not be named 3 All selected team members will be announced on the day and be posted on the NSWCCC website 4 It is the responsibility of team managers to ensure the ‘results sheet’ are correctly filled out

immediately following at the end of each game (listing players by correct jumper number and point scorers

5 Announcement of the NSWCCC U/16 representative team at 3:00pm on field 2 6 Announcement of the NSWCCC U/18 representative team at 3:00pm on Field 1 7 Team Meetings for U/16 and U/18 NSWCCC teams. There will be no paperwork handed out to

selected players. Parents of selected players will be sent an email requesting they log in to the website. They will be requested to give parental consent, pay and purchase uniform. Principals will also be emailed to give their consent

FIELD OF PLAY Benches - Players and officials are to remain behind the roped off area at all times and all substitutions must be made through the touch judges EQUIPMENT Each team is to supply a good football for each game it plays CATERING 1 Lunch will be supplied for officials including NSWCCC Coaches and managers, Association and Diocesan Team Officials, Selectors, Referees and Ground Managers 2. The school canteen will not be available for players and spectators
