Description Ruggadon Farm is a charming south facing farmhouse situated within a beautiful, tucked away, valley location just 1.5 miles from Chudleigh. The accommodation is arranged over two floors, the first floor accessed by two separate stairwells. Although some modern additions have been made, the overall ambience is typical of that found in a country house, with an interesting history emphasised by beamed ceilings, plank and muntin screens, inglenook fireplaces, display alcoves and deep silled windows. There are three reception rooms together with a good sized
breakfast room and conservatory, while on the first floor there are four bedrooms, two with en-suite facilities and a separate bathroom. In addition to the principal accommodation, a self-contained annexe provides excellent guest or full time accommodation. It is within this area that the apple press is housed as a feature. Formally powered by a traction engine, the belt and wheels have survived. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and the property is completely surrounded by its own land.
Situation Ruggadon Farm stands in a rural, secluded, yet not isolated, position
enjoying views over the immediate gardens and surrounding
countryside. With abundant flora and fauna, there is an ever changing
spectacle of colour throughout the seasons. The property lies within
an area of outstanding natural beauty, as a well as a designated
country wildlife site, providing a wonderful location for walking and
riding, more or less from the doorstep. The village of Chudleigh,
approximately 1.5 miles, provides a better than average range of
amenities which include a variety of shops to meet everyday needs. The village is set amidst some of Devon’s finest rolling farmland, close to the Teign valley and Dartmoor National Park. The A38 Devon expressway, which adjoins the M5 motorway network, provides access to more distant destinations, including the cathedral city and county town of Exeter, which provides a good range of educational, recreational and shopping facilities. The reputable Stover school is also close at hand. For the sporting enthusiast there are golf courses at Exeter, Moretonhampstead, Teign Valley and Newton Abbot, whilst fishing can be enjoyed on the Hennock reservoirs, River Exe, River Teign and the Teign estuary. There is horse racing at Haldon and Newton Abbot.
