What are the Goals?1. Improve preparation for workplace training: recruitment testing, aptitude assessment, redesign courses, improve retention and outreach

2. Introduce portable industry recognized credentials into training: core bioscience skills standards foundation

3.Accelerate completion time in programs through: a) improved prior learning assessment, removal of institutional

barriersb) technology enhanced instructional materials - use NTER platform

4. Build CC capacity for education that meets employer needs: add infrastructure, build Capstone and internship programs

c3bc Momentum• Learning Hub “Granules”, deconstructed and reconstructed modules for modularized learning

alternatives progressing nicely• Medical Device Skill Standards progressing well-should have approved draft in October 2014• Revised Lab Skills Stds are up on SharePoint for review• Biomanufacturing group is validating their skill stds this fall• Will start the process of seeking out the Common Core Skill standards• NTER “sandbox” is up on line, training is to be planned for the fall• New curriculum is being approved at participating colleges; example, CCSF environmental

monitoring, Biotech Mfg diploma at MontCo and Bucks, FT reports Lab Skills Center is in operation (temporary setting) with modular science learning.

• Abt associates are commencing their interactions with colleges for the purpose of grant evaluation• Workforce agencies and interaction is picking up as grant personnel are implemented• We are monitoring the sites to assure grant compliance-sites visited to date include RCCC,

Alamance, Ivy Tech, CCSF, Austin , familiarization visit to LAVC and an audit was done by US DOL at FT. The site visit was done at St. Petersburg college on September 19.

• The TAACCCT c3bc communicates every three weeks by teleconference using our 1-800 number- minutes are posted to FT’s SharePoint site

c3bc Next Steps • Do NTER training by December break (November dates confirmed)• Create grant sub-committees that will work towards completing goals

in skills std, workforce components, NTER and Evaluations through National Teleconferences and Hub Leadership Meetings

• Create National Advisory Board to oversee the grant products Industry Recognized Credentials (requested recommendations from colleges)

• National Annual Report due with 4th Quarter • Plan out National c3bc Spring meeting (dates confirmed: March 26,

27, 28)
