Scorpion 3D Stinger for Pallet Sorting

The Scorpion 3D Stinger for Pallet Sorting is designed for automatic inspection of pallets used for transportation of food and other goods. The System sorts wooden and plastic pallets based on damage, cleanliness and appearance. Pallets are used for transportation of food and other goods and large systems are set up for handling reuse of wooden and plastic pallets. Before reuse pallets must be sorted and identified correctly. Damaged pallets must be detected and sent for repair, dirty pallets must be sent for washing and some pallet types must be removed. Capacity : 480 pallets / hours - one pallet every 7.5 second Operation 24/7 - 365 days / year. It is unique : 2D color Scanning and 3D Imaging in a perfect mix. Scope The Pallet sorting process needs automation but inspecting and identifying used pallets are a very complex and difficult task and it requires multiple views to see all of the pallet geometry - center block as an example

● The Scorpion 3D Stinger for Pallet Sorting can be fully integrated in a pallet conveyor transportation system using multiple 2D Color and 3D Scanners for complete top, all sides and bottom inspections.

● A Scorpion 3D Stinger for Robot Vision system should be used for guiding of robots for automatic picking and identification of pallets

Topside 2D and 3D Scanner Separate laser light to optimize 3D Scanning. Scanning is synchronized with the conveyor encoder and scanning frequency can be individually set for optimising scanner performance. Different pallet types are easily handled with dynamically changing camera parameters based on pallet ID.






2D Color and 3D Side Scanner All In One unit for detailed scanning of wooden pallet blocks and plastic pallet legs. Can handle pallets with different sizes like half pallets by dynamically changing scanning set-up based on pallet ID.
