October 30th Joint Meeting with San Francisco Section:
-AWS President Dean Wilson to give presentation- -Pipe Fitters Hall Concord, CA-
The September 17th AWS Meeting will be at Yuba College in Marysville, CA. The
meeting will take place in room 608 (Welding Shop) at 6pm. Dinner is available for $4
and will include a hamburger with your choice of soda or water. This month we are fo-
cusing on the ever growing topic of Plasma Torch cutting. This process has seen leaps
and bounds in development and Torchmate has really fine tuned the art.
The demonstration will be presented by a long time veteran of Torchmate, Jason
Schohn.
Joshua Schohn has been selling Torchmate CNC products for over a decade. Hired on
as the 5th employee for Torchmate, he had the opportunity of selling thousands of CNC
tables to every kind of business imaginable. While growing the Torchmate business
20% annually, this success eventually caught the eye of a much larger and much older
company in need of a cutting business. 3 years ago Torchmate was purchased by Lin-
coln Electric as the solution to their plate and pipe cutting segment. Josh’s current role is
Director of Sales for Lincoln Electric Cutting Systems and is responsible for the Vernon
Tool and Torchmate product lines. Based out of Reno, Nevada, Lincoln Cutting Systems
employs 100 locals in a 118,000 sq./ft. facility serving customers’ cutting needs world-
wide.
Everyone is invited to this state of the art discussion and presentation. While viewing
this presentation safety is paramount. We ask that all participants wear closed toed
shoes, Shade 3 to 5 safety glasses, and ear plugs. If you have any questions regarding
