Dear Parents and Caregivers, When is the last Ɵme that you had a quality conversaƟon with your child about their learning at school? FiŌy years of research aƩests to the fact that when parents are engaged in teaching and learning children are more successful both academically and socially (Dr Karen Mapp 2013). At our School Council last evening we began to explore ways to enable parents to be more engaged in the life of our school and to share their knowledge of their children with us. Mrs Reynolds has decided to resign her teaching posiƟon at Sacred Heart as of the end of term two. Mrs Reynolds and her family are relocaƟng at the end of the year. Mrs Reynolds commitment to every learner, her dedicaƟon and experience in educaƟon will be greatly missed from our community. The Royal Far West and Catholic Schools Office Wagga Wagga have for the first Ɵme, entered into a partnership to support the development of Kindergarten learners. The program targets 20% of Kindergartens and focuses on speech therapy and occupaƟonal therapy. NAPLAN assessment went well. We expect the results in August. Stage Three are going to the Mater Dei Catholic College Musical, ‘We Will Rock You’ on Thursday morning. A group of students, along with Mrs Puckeridge, will represent us at the NaƟonal Sorry Day Ceremony being held at the Civic Theatre on Friday. I will be out of the school on Thursday and Friday aƩending diocesan meeƟngs. Sports Report Week 4 Congratulations to Rylee Young and Jett Morris for their selection in the Wagga Diocese Rugby side to contest the MacKillop trials in Forbes on Sunday July 1st and Monday July 2nd. We wish both boys all the best! A busy week of sport next week with many Stage 3 students par cipa ng in the Mor mer Shield on Tuesday 29th May and approximately 40 students from stages 1 to 3 compe ng in the Deanery Athle cs Carnival on Wednesday 30th May. Reminder notes about both events were sent home today. We are s ll in need of volunteers to help run the canteen at the Deanery Carnival. Please contact the school office if you are available to help. Students will begin par cipa ng in a skipping program next week as we prepare for Jump Rope for Heart. Our “Jump Off” will be held on Friday 29th June. Further informa on, including sponsorship forms will go home next Friday. Footy Tipping

In the AFL ZOJO has taken the lead by 3 points from Sassy10Legend on 57 and wally75 & Bec Levo both on 53. It’s s ll very much anyone’s compe on to win!

In the Rugby League Premi3rs is on top on 56, closely followed by Dave Smit, Blocker01, GoSccannaz & Baggers71 who are all on 53. There are also a number of psters who have not yet used their joker round!

Ini ally we were going to celebrate the end of Football season with a psters BBQ and give the prize winners a slice of the takings, but when I look at the number of entries this isn’t really viable so instead we will present a voucher to 1st & 2nd place in each compe on. I hope this is ok with all those who have entered our pping compe on.

P&F NEWS Mother's Day Stall The P&F had their first Mother's Day Stall and the children had great pleasure choosing something very special for their Mums, Grand-mothers and special women in their lives. We trust you all enjoyed your gifts and you all had a lovely Mothers Day. A very BIG Thank You to the Mothers in our school that helped organise and run this event. Your help is always truly appreciated. Thank You - Jacqui Forbes, Sue Turner, Jo Kolhaghen, Lisa Honeyman, Heidi Betland P&F Monthly Meetings - The P&F will now meet on the SECOND Tuesday of every month during the school term. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday 12th June. The P&F were blessed with two new faces at our last meeting. Thank You David Morey and Carolyn Rosetta-Walsh for attending our meeting and getting an inside into the P&F. Remember, we love to see new faces always if you able to attend or help in anyway. Uniforms - How smart are our children looking in our new NAVY jackets and fleecy jumpers. Both of these having been selling like hot cakes and now certain sizes have sold out in both styles. More stock will be arriving within the next few weeks so be sure to keep check for more sizes.
