Maths Week, London
Each day your child should complete:
the English and Maths tasks
reading for 20 minutes daily (fill in their Reading Journals at least 5 times each week and complete at least two Creative Activities)
a reading comprehension task
a daily PE activity
a daily Thrive activity In addition, there are also
Maths Mysteries to solve
An RE activity and
Art activities for your child to complete at home this week.
This week is also ‘Maths Week London’ with all classes including additional maths activities.
To support your child with their learning separate resources are included for your child to engage with to
enable them to complete the activities set. The resources for this week can be found on the school
website under the Children section – Home learning – Year 4 – All the resources are labelled by
subject and date to help you link them to the timetable.
Please note that most of the resources do not need to be printed as they are provided to support learning.
Additionally, if it is easier, the activities can be completed on paper or in work books as an alternative to
printing out the templates provided.

Letter Writing This week, you will be taking part in

campaign that will see young people write letters to care home residents to let them know that we are thinking of them during this difficult time. Read the information at English – Lovethroughtheletterbox – 23062020
RE: Inter-Relating: Building Bridges (60 mins) Focus – Everyone is loved by Jesus. The Good Shepherd Read the Parable of The Lost Sheep and answer the questions at Religious Education – The Parable of the Lost Sheep 25062020. Activity Paragraph 1 - Describe how the sheep would have felt when it was lost. Paragraph 2 – Describe the joy of being found.

English
This week, the children will be taking part in the LoveThroughTheLetterbox campaign details of which can
be found on the website.
Please assess your child on the spellings for this week.
Reading:
The children should continue to read for 20 minutes each day and complete their Reading Journals (at least
5 times a week). The children should also complete at least two Creative Activities this week.
Maths:
The children will be following the White Rose Maths Scheme. This week, we are looking at perimeter and
area – all lessons are online via Vimeo.
Times Tables:
The focus for this week is the 9 and 11 times tables with their division facts. These can be practised using
