Pastor’s Honor Roll Sunday

Mission Statement The Salem Baptist Church is transforming lives by Exalting the

Savior, Evangelizing the Lost, Equipping the Saints and

Expanding the Kingdom of God.

(Matthew 22: 36-40; Matthew 28: 18-20)

Each saint of God should be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ. In 2018 we expect each member to

aspire to a higher level of worship, relationship, discipleship and stewardship.

Ephes. 4:11-16 (NKJV)

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and

teachers, [12] for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body

of Christ, [13] till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to

a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; [14] that we should no longer

be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of

men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, [15] but, speaking the truth in love, may grow

up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ-- [16] from whom the whole body, joined and

knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part

does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

In this new year, each of us should renew our commitment to the Lord Jesus, to one another as brothers

and sisters in Christ, and to seeing lost souls served and saved.

If you are new to the area and looking for a church home, we would love for you to become a part of the Salem Baptist Church family. Please come forward at the end of the sermon and we will gladly share with you the reality of Jesus Christ. PARENTS OF YOUNG CHILDREN: Nursery B is available to parents of infants and small children for feeding, changing diapers, or meeting other specific needs. A television that shows the church service has been added to the room to make it more convenient for you as a parent. The room is also equipped with chairs and a changing table. Parents please remember to cleanup after your children when using the nursery.

Weekly Announcements

Ministry Spotlight on the Salem History Walk: Each month a current or past Ministry

will be highlighted to tell their unique story. For July, our spotlight is Vacation Bible

School. Ministries that are interested in being featured in upcoming months should see a

Futures Committee Representative.

Attention Ministry Leaders: Please note that you will need to fill out a form on the

web or in person for event request, bulletin request and copy request. We will not accept

emails for these items. No exceptions.

Use of Church Facility: Please ensure that ALL ministry meetings are scheduled

with the church office prior to the meeting. Access to classrooms and meeting areas will

not be allowed without prior approval.

Giving Envelopes: Please print clearly and fill out your envelopes completely to ensure

we record your contributions accurately. We get several envelopes weekly and we don’t

know how to apply the contributions due to missing information. Please complete your

envelopes even if you give a check. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Pastor’s Honor Roll: TODAY is Pastor ’s Honor Roll Recognition. Students that have

qualified for recognition will be honored. Families are invited to have refreshments with

honorees after 11:30 A.M. service.

Vacation Bible School (VBS): “The God Squad – Special Agents in Action”. What a

blessed, exciting and wonderful time students and volunteers had during Vacation Bible

School. Dr. D.J. Moore, Marsha Hall, Cynthia Hume and Pam Sides would like to thank

the students and volunteers for participating and becoming Special Agents for God. We

pray that something was said or done that will help you move into action for God. Use

your talents, skills, resources and time to proclaim God and do small things that will have

a mighty impact. We look forward to seeing you serve in the various ministry opportuni-

ties here at Salem Baptist Church.

Children’s Church: Children's Church is on break until September 9, 2018. Dur ing

this time, we are asking parent and guardians to keep your children with you during

worship. We will alert you in August to remind you of the date we will resume. We are

thankful for you entrusting your children to our care. Enjoy your summer.

Church Fellowship: For those who signed up for the movie, we will be seeing Uncle

Drew at Great Escape Theater, 7440 Crown Point Avenue at 1:00 P.M. Sis. Trotter will be

there with your ticket and your $5.00 gift card to be used at the concession stand. Looking

Commitment Academy: Commitment Academy 2019-2020 Class Planning Meeting:

Parents, Youth (ages 12 -18), Presenters/ Mentors, Volunteers and Academy Sergeants are

asked to attend this important meeting on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 6:30 P.M. - 8:00

Do Something Saturday.

On Saturday, July 28, 2018, the members of the

Divine 9 will lead the charge with Do Something

Saturday. The day will start at 9:00am. We will

be working to beautify Lake Street from 30th

Street to John Creighton Blvd. This will take

place from 9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Hold on, wait a

minute! We are not stopping there. From 11:00

A.M. - 1:00 P.M. we will provide a light lunch

and minister to the needs of those in the area.

EVERYONE is welcome and invited to participate

in Do Something Saturday, July 28, 2018. Don't

miss the opportunity to be a blessing to others
