Styriarte has tied the pioneering conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt more closely to his home city of Graz. Harnoncourts artistic skills, which have made him a star worldwide, became the criterion for the performances of the festival. So it is that styriarte today enables encounters with lost perspectives of our musical heritage, reflecting todays variety of exciting approaches to old music, to the music between the Middle ages and the romantic period.
