The aerodynamic nature of rolling stock means that it is increasingly difficult to keep it in pristine condition and, as a result, an innovative engineering design is required to enable effective automatic cleaning.

Garrandale offers a range of modular solutions which are designed to suit the individual requirements of the location and the contours of a range of rolling stock profiles.

The flexibility of the design allows for a number of configurations which include drive through or stationary cleaning or a combination of both, together with front and rear cleaning. Each bespoke system makes efficient use of the space available and can be configured for single or bi-directional washing.

With the Bertolotti Bogie Drop System it is possible to remove the bogie, the wheelset & under car mounted components with dedicated interfaces. The client may choose a standard product or request a bespoke design according to depot layout, the maintenance cycle, train type & investment level.

BOGIE DROP SYSTEM

The Bertolotti Lifting Jacks can be designed for tramways, metros, passenger trains and locomotives, from 6 Ton to 50 Ton each, from a minimum of 4 columns to 48 columns. A wireless lifting system can be supplied, where each jack is controlled and managed via a wi-fi network.

From a small platform to a large system covering several metres of walkways. Different types of platforms can be designed for roof access, floor fixed, supported by building columns or anchored to a roof structure.

FIXED WORKING PLATFORMS FOR ROOF ACCESS

LIFTING JACKS

Mobile and independent platforms equipped with fences can be supplied to work alone or in double configuration. From 500kg to 1000kg capacity, from 4 metres net length to 6 metres net length, they move close to the train on steel rails embedded in the concrete or steerable rubber wheels, with optic guiding system, with batteries or cable drum or conductor rail.

MOBILE WORKING PLATFORMS FOR ROOF ACCESS

The fixed plant is completely automatic, equipped with a compressor and centralised dust filtering unit.An independent mobile unit, equipped with a sand tank and fitted on an electric vehicle / frame is also available.

SANDING SYSTEMS

Turntables are the best way to transfer bogies and wheelsets quickly and safely in the workshop. Bogie turntables (from 6t to 25t) or wheelset turntables (from 2t to 6t) are supplied with different outer diameters and gauges according to site of installation. They can be manually operated or motorized.

The TUU1250 wheel lathe is designed for turning of new and used wheel profiles of rail vehicle wheelsets enabling tasks such as;• Reconditioning of wheel profile of used wheelsets• Turning of wheel profile of new wheelsets• Exposing of the ring, securing the wheelset wheel tyre• Facing of inner and outer faces of wheel types• Facing of active surface of brake discs

ABOVE FLOOR WHEEL LATHE

BOGIE HANDLING AND TURNING

The TUP650, TUP650H & TUP650SH underfloor wheel lathes are designed for the reconditioning of wheel profiles for all types of rail vehicles. The great advantage of these lathes is that the machining process can be carried out without dismantling the wheelsets from the vehicle. The TUP lathes are also available in tandem.

UNDERFLOOR WHEEL LATHE

PZK2 is a diagnostic station designed for automatics contactless measurement and monitoring of a profile and diameter of rail vehicle wheels. The diagnostic station allows for back to back distance between inner faces of wheels on the same axle to be measured.

DIAGNOSTICS STATION FOR WHEELSETS

The special purpose ring rolling machine PZD150 is designed for rolling of safety rings in wheelset tyres. It can be used in workshops for the repair and maintenance of rolling stock.

The WM50, WM150, WM300 & WM500 products are designed to shunt rail vehicles on the track to a required location. The shunters are supplied with traction batteries and do not emit exhaust fumes, allowing them to be operated in internal spaces.

RAIL SHUNTERS

RING ROLLING MACHINE

The PLK500 and PLK1500 rope winches devices enable shunting of rail vehicles and transport platforms on a straight section of track. Depending on the application and method of coupling to the vehicles, the winching devices can be installed in the track axis or between the tracks, potentially serving two tracks.

WINCHING DEVICES

Garrandale supply a Roediger Toilet Waste Extraction System. The fully automated extraction process eliminates the possibility of operative error, provides a drip-free disconnection of the suction hose and a completely odourless extraction process.

TOILET WASTE EXTRACTION SYSTEM

Chemical, physical and biological treatment of washing and flushing water with a high recirculation ration.

The Roediger system allows environmentally friendly, reliable and efficient de-icing of bogies. Ice & snow are melted by using hot water without chemical additives. The water re-circulation and discharge process is operated manually and continuously monitored.

DE-ICING SYSTEMS FOR BOGIES

WATER MANAGEMENT

The Roevac Vacuum System with odour control units will be located in the Wet Services plant room. Wastewater from the train is collected and conveyed with wastewater discharge pumps into the sewer system.
