Kindergarten Orientation
Last week we held our very first Kindergarten orientation session for the year. Due to the current guidelines, par-
ents were unable to accompany their children in to school for orientation however our 2021 Kindy students were
very resilient and enthusiastic to come into big school for the first time. This was assisted by the great work of
our Year 5 buddies. They were amazing with their little buddies, really demonstrating their leadership skills. I
have to congratulate each and every one of them for how brilliant they were in taking care of their little buddy.
Well done! Kindy orientation continues for the next two Tuesdays.

2021 Term Dates and Staff Development Days
The Department has made changes to the Staff Development Days from 2021 onwards. They have moved one of
these days from the very end of the year and added it at the beginning of the year. This means staff will return
two days before the students in January.
2021 Term 1 dates:
Staff return on Wednesday 27th and 28th January
Students in years 1 – 6 begin Friday 29th January
Kindergarten begin Wednesday 3rd February
NAIDOC Week
This week is NAIDOC Week -Always Was, Always Wil Be. Students will participate in class activities throughout
the week with a culmination of the week occurring on Friday, where each class rotate around and complete
activities such as weaving, art and stories. Students are also invited to wear colours of the Aboriginal flag on
Friday.
Book Parade
This week we also celebrate our Book Parade on Thursday. The parade will take place during the first part of the
day. We will be sure to take lots of photos so then we can share with you a virtual parade.
NRMA Road Safety lessons
Over the last fortnight students have been participating in the NRMA’s ‘Online Science & Road Safety Program.’
This program aims to increase children’s knowledge and to drive changes in their attitudes and behaviours to-
wards road safety. There is a parent information booklet to support this program. It includes all of the key con-
cepts that your child’s teacher has been discussing with students that you might like to reinforce with your child
at home. This program concludes at the end of this week.
Practicum students
Last Friday we bid farewell to Mrs Jolly who had been completing her 4-week practicum on 3/4S. She demon-
strated what an amazing teacher she will be and we wish her all the best in the future. This week Miss Seymour
will begin her practicum on K/1F for the next four weeks.
