NSS Special Camp Report 2018-19
Special Camp of our NSS unit was organized from 23th to 30th December 2018
at Chitegaon, Tal. Niphad, Dist. Nashik. Everyday activities were divided in
three sessions, viz.
(i) Morning session (6.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.): Yoga, Prayer, tea,
breakfast, street play, rally, Survey, Shramdaan, etc.
(ii) Afternoon session (1.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.): Lunch, expert talk, field
visit, group discussion etc.
(iii) Evening session (5.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.): Street play, meetings,
group discussion, dinner, cultural program, etc.
DAY1:- Sunday, 23/12/2018:
All NSS volunteers arrived at Chitegaon on 23/12/2018 at 12.30 p.m. They
have made survey for all necessary arrangements for camp. All volunteers
cleaned the place of camp and made arrangements for accommodations. NSS
Camp was inaugurated by senior social worker Shri. Mukundji Dixit, Mrs.
Vasanti Dixit and Shri. Ambadas More (P.I. Saykheda Police Station). For this
function Dr. K.N. Nandurkar (Principal), Subhash Gade (Sarpanch of
Chitegaon), Dr. Nanasaheb Gurule (Programme Officer), villagers and 125 NSS
volunteers were present. Thereafter, Dr. Gurule called a meeting in which a
daily activity scheduled between 5.00 a.m to 10.00 p.m. along with all
disciplinary guidelines were discussed and all volunteer committed to follow this
for the smooth and successful conduction of camp. Then volunteers shared
some ideas regarding effective use of smart phones and laptops for daily report
preparation. The concept of NSS Camp Office was discussed by Prof. Gurule
and all volunteers accepted it by making all necessary things.

DAY2:- Monday, 24/12/2018:
NSS volunteers went to houses in village to ask them about their major
issues and problems. Also they surveyed about cleanliness, health, education
and economy of village. In the afternoon session, social worker Shri. Bhaguji
Sangle guided volunteers about objectives of NSS formation and its progress.
Thereafter, Shri. Amit Dere representative from Anulom NGO explained about
various government schemes. In evening, volunteers shared their experiences
and performed group discussions on various social issues.

DAY3:- Tuesday, 25/12/2018:
NSS has organized free dental and eye check up camp in association with
Ramole Hospital Nashik. NSS volunteers invited all villagers for free dental and
eye check up. In the afternoon session, Shri. Pundalik Pimpalake who is 100 %
blind and works as Asst. Bank Manager; guided volunteers about need of true
pretrotism for nation building. Thereafter, Shri. Prakash Kolhe and Dr.
Ashwinkumar Bhardwaj shared their experiences about NSS activities

DAY4:- Wednesday, 26/12/2018:
NSS volunteers prepared a play ground and Soak pits under shramadaan
activity. Girl volunteers visited primary school and interacted with school
students about cleanliness, health awareness issues and collected information
about students in Chitegaon primary school. In the afternoon session, Shri.
Mandar Oltikar from Sankraman NGO, Nashik guided volunteers about
Connections of social services with Environment and public health. In his
speech he shared his experinces related to public views about Auto rikshow
drivers and how he has changed negativities into positivity‟s. In the evening
Savitribai Phule group performed a street play on „Computer Literacy and Uses

DAY5:- Thursday, 27/12/2018:
NSS volunteers cleaned area of Hanuman temple in which old construction
material was shifted at Amardham. NSS volunteers digged a pit at Amardham
for construction purpose. In afternon session, Mrs. Ketaki Vaspate (ISKON
member) delivered motivational lecture for girl volunteers and students in
secondary school about girls health issues. After that, NSS volunteers made
interaction with allotted group of school students about projects and charts to be
created for „Anand Mela‟. In evening, Anna Hazare group performed a street
play on „Save Water- Save Nation‟. Then Dr. Prakash Amte group presented
street play on “Cleanliness”.

DAY6:- Friday, 28/12/2018:
In morning session, NSS volunteers visited Grampanchayat Office to know
the functioning; then volunteers interacted with members and discussed on
many issues reported by villagers. Then volunteers went to school to make
arrangements of „Aanand Mela‟ and prepare projects based on “Best out of
Waste” theme which mainly include science, cleanliness, health and agriculture
projects. In evening, Swami Vivekanand group performed a street play on
„Vyasanmukti‟ and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule group performed a street play on
„Andhashradha Nirmulan‟. In the evening session Balkirtankar Abhjit Shinde and
20 gurukul students presented Kirtan which was appreciated by all villagers.

DAY7:- Saturday, 29/12/2018
All NSS volunteers made necessary arrangements for Anandmela at school
ground. School students exihibited their ideas through project models and
charts. Anandmela was inaugrated by the hands of Dr. B. G. Wagh in presence
of school committee members, staff and villagers. Total 48 groups with 324
school students and all NSS volunteers made this event successful. Senior
NSS volunteers and engineering faculty assessed all groups. In the afternoon
session State level cyclist Pranjal Patole and armyman Kishor Patole shared
their success stories with volunteers.

DAY8:- Sunday, 30/12/2018:
NSS camp valedictory and Anandmela prize distribution function was
arranged at 10 a.m. Hon. Shitaltai Sangle (Chairman, ZP Nashik) and Hon.
Shakuntala Wagh were the chief guest. All NSS groups presented day wise
reports. Some NSS volunteers shared their experience of camp. Prizes and
certificates were distributed to all school students. Both guests guided to all and
appreciated about the efforts and team work for making this camp successful.
