I used this picture for my horror magazine front cover. I decided that I wanted Helen’s under eyes to look darker than usual to create an effect of mystery, connoting that the main character is someone who is strange, and is obviously not looked after due to her appearance.

To be able to achieve this, I used a blur tool in a dark brown colour to give a bruised look to under her eyes. I added a couple layers of this to make it look dark as possible, but not too unrealistic. I also got rid of some blemishes from Helens face by using the spot healing tool. For all the editing, I used Photoshop.
