The school was named after the Ulrich family. The Ulrich family came to Texas in the early 1900s. Three brothers, Eric, Raymond and Herman, were born to August and Marie Ulrich. The youngest son, Herman purchased land across from the original homestead. This land was on the south side of Spring-Cypress and is now the site of present day Ulrich Intermediate. Herman married Tillie Hildebrandt and they had three children, Grace Ulrich Jones, Allen and Gladys Ulrich Krueger. School Rating Ulrich Intermediate is rated as Met Standard and received distinction designation in Top 25% Student Progress. Counseling Program Ulrich counselors are involved in all aspects of student life. They counsel with students and parents in areas regarding education, social or vocational concerns. Counseling activities focus on providing direction for: • Decision-making • Goal-setting • Social skills • Peer pressure • Conflict management • Parent education For more information, click here. ULRICH Intermediate SchoolBULLDOGS

Ulrich Intermediate School offers Pre-AP/GT sections for math, science, social studies, and English classes in grades 6-8. The campus also has courses that 7th and 8th grade students can take to earn high school credit while in middle school. Some of these courses are, but not limited to Touch System Data Entry, algebra I, Spanish, and communication applications. Ulrich follows the district curriculum for basic instruction, which is:

English Language Arts (ELA)ELA instruction at the intermediate school expands and develops reading and writing skills that are introduced in elementary school. Writing and reading are the core units of study in all three grade levels. Students are taught to write for various audiences, purposes, and modes; grammar skills; and practice techniques in spelling, word usage, punctuation, capitalization, and handwriting. In reading, students apply learned reading skills in both fiction and nonfiction reading selections. The study of literature also increases in intermediate school. More, click here.

MathAt the intermediate level, students build a foundation of understandings in number, operation, and quantitative reasoning; patterns, relationships, and algebraic thinking; geometry and spatial reasoning; measurement; and probability and statistics. More, click here.

ScienceAt the intermediate level students learn science skills and learn to identify components of the solar system including the sun, planets, moon, and asteroids; systems of the human body; and relationship between force and motion. More, click here.

Social StudiesIn grades K-12, students build a foundation in history, geography, economics, government, citizenship, culture, science, technology and society, and social studies skills. The content, as appropriate for the grade level or course, enables students to understand the importance of patriotism, function in a free enterprise society, and appreciate the basic democratic values of our state and nation.
