The Job
The Solution
Volleyball England approached Coachwise for help in getting itsproducts into the schools market.
Although it is slowly changing, volleyball isn’t a main choice of sport forschools. Encouraging more young people to play volleyball is animportant part of Volleyball England’s whole sport plan (WSP). ‘Let’sPlay Volleyball’ is the governing body of sport’s holistic national youthparticipation programme. One of the contributing factors to thesuccess of the programme is being able to get their resources tocoaches and teachers in schools, to support them to deliver volleyballsessions. Volleyball England’s own sales channels tend to be clubsand the people who play the sport so it was looking for a way toeffectively target the schools market.
Coachwise gave Volleyball England its very own dedicated page to sellits resources in our 1st4sport.com catalogue and online shop.
Since 1989, the catalogue has provided a huge selection of hand-picked, user-friendly resources to help teachers and schools inevery aspect of PE and school sport. Mailed quarterly to primary andsecondary schools, colleges and universities, it reaches 40,000contacts. The catalogue provides Volleyball England with theopportunity to target schools more effectively by using a well-established and trusted name. This direct route to coaches andteachers in schools was something that was missing from its existingsales model.
On average, the 1st4sport.com website attracts 8500 visits a month*.Having a presence on the site gives Volleyball England another cost-effective way to reach a group of potential buyers it couldn’taccess previously.
Volleyball England has been very pleased with the results. Thegoverning body of sport now has two new avenues through whichto promote its products directly to the people who can play a partin helping it meet its WSP objectives: growing and sustainingparticipation in volleyball. Volleyball England’s products now enjoyincreased visibility in the schools market, and sales have grown asa result, with over 200 resources being sold to date.
