Science, Engineering and Technology Building

Crestron Touch Panel

Introduction

The Science Engineering and Technology Building has two main types of instructional spaces – skills labs and multi-display collaboration rooms. Each room will have a touch panel control system but they may have a few different settings depending on the technology available in the room. This document will provide an example of how to interact with the touch panel for a skills lab.

Activate the Crestron Control Panel

1. Press the control panel to wake it up (Fig 1,1).

The Home screen provides a list of sources that are available in the classroom. These sources will vary depending on the room type. In this image, from a 2 display classroom, you may choose to display the following sources (Fig 2):

Computer (the instructor’s PC) Laptop VGA (a cable to connect other devices such as

an additional laptop) Laptop HDMI (a cable to connect media that uses this

type of connection like an extra DVD player) Doc Cam Air Media

1. Press your desired source (Fig 2, 1). (For this example the left computer monitor has been selected.)

1. Press your desired projector (Fig 3,1).

2. Press Go (Fig 3,2).

The Projector Video Mute button allows you to temporarily blank the projector screen.

1. Press the Projector Video Mute button at the bottom of the Crestron Touch Screen. The

projector will stop projecting the selected source and the button will appear pale blue (Fig 4,1).

2. Press the Projector Video Mute button again to resume displaying the projector (Fig 4,1).

Adjust the Volume Levels

1. Press Room Speakers (Fig 5,1) to play sound.

2. Check the volume in the computer and the video presented.

3. In the Crestron Touch Screen, press Volume Up (Fig 6,1) to increase the volume, and Volume Down (Fig 6,2) to decrease the volume. To mute the speakers press Volume Mute (Fig 6,3).

Turn the System or Display Devices Off

1. Press the Power button in the lower right corner of the Crestron Touch Screen (Fig 7,1).

2. Press the Power Off button for the desired Projector to turn off only the selected projector (Fig 7,2).

3. To turn off the entire system and raise the projection screen, press the Yes button (Fig 7,3).
