2012 Episode of SCPW Week.TRANSCRIPT
The inaugural Singapore Construction Productivity Week (SCPW) was held from 25 April 2011 to 29 April 2011. The event attracted more than 4,300 local and international visitors with displays of the latest building technologies, initiatives and best practices.
Highlights of SCPW 2011 include the Build Smart Con-ference, BuildTechAsia Exhibition, Skilled Builder Com-petition and Building Information Modelling (BIM) Competition.
Former Senior Minister of State for National Development,
Grace Fu, was the Guest-of-Honour for the event.
SINGAPORE CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTIVITY WEEK 2011
The Build Smart Conference and BuildTechAsia Exhibition were warmly received by the industry. The two-day
conference attracted some 600 participants from 180 local and
international companies. 27 papers were presented at the inaugural
conference while 160 exhibitors took part in the exhibition.
The Building Construction Authority (BCA) also signed a Memorandum Of
Understanding (MOU) on BIM capability building with buildingSMARTKorea,
buildingSMARTSingapore and StichtingOpenBIM.info (Netherlands) at
the opening ceremony.
BUILD SMART CONFERENCE
COMPETITIONSOther than the Build Smart Conference and BuildTechAsia Exhibition, SCPW 2011 further engaged industry players through the Skilled Builder and BIM Competition.
Trade Skills Competition41 teams competed in 4 different categories in the Trade Skills Competition. The categories were system formwork, telescopic handler operations, crane operations and drywall partition.

Ms Grace Fu, former Senior Minister of State for National Development, tried her hand
at a crane simulator during the SCPW.
BIM CompetitionIn the Building Information Modelling (BIM) competition, a total of 47 teams competed in 5 different categories i.e. Architecture (Students), Architecture (Professionals), Construction, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering and Civil & Structural Engineering.
Other awards include the Best Team Collaboration and Coordination, Special Mention for Best Use of BIM for Sustainable Design and Special Mention for Best Use of BIM for Buildable Design.
