Lesson Overview 1. The learning intentions and success criteria are explained with links to the levels of thinking . 2. The class contribute to a discussion of cyberbullying. Well done for asking class to close their devices and focus. 3. Some students are talking out of turn so you warn them that they will be separated if it happens again. Then the students are separated. Great to preempt non- manaaki be- haviour. 4. A video on Cyberbullying is viewed and then the class discuss what they noticed. 5. The group activity is explained and the class is divided into groups by choosing a num- ber from a cup. You explain the value of learning to work and get along with other peo- ple. 6. The class use Padlet to record/gather ideas about what it means to be brave. Before they begin you explain how you want it to be used. You then give a time limit to the activity. 7. People are being silly with Padlet so you stop them and discuss Manaaki and the correct way to complete the activity. 8. While the class work you roam around and help groups and give feedback on what they have done. 9. To finish the class, students share ideas about what being brave is. Then you explain what will happen next week. Positives 1. Great that you asked for a few different people to answer questions instead of just the keen student. 2. Including life skills and positive values within your teaching e.g. Working with others. 3. Affirming the good answers on Padlet especially after many students had been doing silly things.
