DRAWING: SELF-PORTRAIT CRITERIA: 1. Use a large mirror to observe the details of your face. (NO photo references) 2. Fill the paper with mostly your head & shoulders (Allow some room for background details and information). 3. Create a REALISTIC drawing or painting (NOT abstract). Use the “Proportions of Average Head” diagram as a guide. (Also attached) 4. Set up a strong light source from the side to light up your face– use one lamp or a window. Look for the highlights and shadows on your face as you draw. 5. Use any medium to complete the work. (Pencil (Black, white and greys), colored pencil, oil pastels, watercolors, crayons, chalk pastels, etc.) 6. Include clothing & an interesting background (either observed or imagined) that help to tell the story of who YOU are. 7. Make it a FINISHED drawing or painting. NO white paper showing! 8. Do your very best work! Great artwork takes time and effort!

DRAWING: SELF-PORTRAIT

CRITERIA:

1. Use a large mirror to observe the details of your face. (NO photo references)
