Considerthis.

Since I arrived at Loyola, I’ve heard the same thing from business leaders throughout the region. As they take a look at their leadership teams, they see a common theme: they’re Loyola graduates.

That’s quite a powerful testament to the positive impact Loyola has made on business in this region and to the value of our program. As an executive seeking a leadership degree, you want the very best, so consider the following factors in your decision:

The InstitutionLoyola offers you a distinct, values-centered approach to business education, a rich history and reputation, and a commitment to academic excellence unmatched by any other university in this region.

The ExperienceYou will make invaluable connections with your colleagues and faculty, learning from one another as you reflect on your experiences, test theories against relevant, real-world situations, and make effective decisions for a successful future.

The OutcomesKnowledge is a given—you’ll be able to immediately apply what you are learning to your career. However, you’ll also experience a more personal return on investment—a transformation as a business person, a leader, and a member of your community.

We look forward to helping you achieve your Executive MBA.

Karyl B. Leggio, Ph.D.Dean, Rev. Joseph A. Sellinger, S.J., School of Business and Management

SeeBusiness…

Ethically. Ethics are an essential part of our Jesuit identity and have been central to our business programs since their inception. Our values-centeredbusiness curriculum transforms you.

Globally. You’ll learn to experience the world from new perspectives—fosteringan appreciation for how business is done, whether at a local, regional, orinternational level, and an appreciation for how business decisions affect global society at large.

Confidently.Armed with enhanced leadership skills, you’ll approach situations with confidence and make thoughtful strategic decisions.

Responsibly. We ask you to reflect on the hard questions and embrace the concept of doing well by doing good. This broad sense of responsibility to the greater community will sharpen your business acumen, enhance leadership skills, and improve the world around you.

Innovatively.Your entrepreneurial spirit will be awakened as you work on live case studies and consulting projects, and bring what you learn in the classroom to real business scenarios.

Differently. At Loyola you will earn more than an MBA. You’ll graduate a strong, ethical, effective leader. A leader who makes a difference because of the difference Loyola made in you.

Every business decision impacts our world in

some way, and it is essential that we develop

leaders with a strong ethical commitment

and global perspective. Sellinger’s distinct

approach to business education—rooted in a

450-year-old Jesuit tradition of cura personalis,

care of the whole person—challenges the way

you interact with the world. Regardless of the

area of study, and in every case we examine,

students test conventional wisdom against the

framework of ethical and socially responsible

decision-making. Our students have a well-

developed view of the complexities of the global

marketplace—a skill vital in today’s business

world, not just for achieving success but for

arriving at thoughtful, strategic decisions that

have a far-reaching impact.

You will apply what you are learning to your

own career immediately—drawing from your

colleagues’ perspectives, live case studies,

consulting projects, and domestic and

international field studies. Constantly testing

theory against relevant, real-world situations

is a hallmark of a Sellinger education.

It forces you to adapt to a multitude of

unforeseen and ever-changing factors. It

challenges you to ask new questions and look

for effective, sustainable solutions.

Our entire program is designed to

establish you as a highly qualified strategic

leader—one whose intellect allows you

to think quickly and with precision. We

coach students to learn and lead through

reflection. Jesuit education has always

embraced reflection as a powerful learning

tool and leadership principle helping you

think on a deeper level, see things more

clearly, and understand more fully. It

prepares you to ask more complex questions

and gain a more profound understanding of

yourself and the world.

Sellinger graduates are renowned for their ability to take a leadership role in any situation, appreciate

its complexity, discern its true nature, and act in a way that is simultaneously ethical and effective.

It is this quality that makes them the leaders who naturally rise to executive leadership positions and

bring about systemic change. Leaders businesses seek, and the world desperately needs.OURAPPROACH

Weekend, Cohort Programsfor the Executive We understand that career growth requires greater responsibility, demanding even more

of your ability and your time. To position you for continued success, in and out of the

classroom, we structured two efficient and effective cohort-based programs that bring

together talented professionals of similar experience levels.

Meet YourFacultyLoyola is prepared to offer you a high level of personal

attention from the moment you consider Loyola

though graduation. Our faculty and staff want to get

to know you and help you gain the most from your

degree—for yourself and your career.

Your faculty—a combination of full-time academic

and successful working professionals—have a gift for

balancing theory with practice to bring real-world

experience to the classroom, ensuring whatever you

are learning is relevant to today’s business climate, and

for tomorrow’s business forecast.

Meet Your ColleaguesThe cohort format offers students the unique opportunity to connect with other leaders from a wide range of professional fields. The collaborative learning environment deepens their perspective and expands their experience as they complete the program together. Through this collaborative, intellectually challenging environment you will build a lifelong network with this diverse pool of professionals.

JALAL SOROOSH, PH.D. Professor of Accounting

“Professor Soroosh had the hard task of teaching accounting to a class of mostly non-accountants. He was engaging, prepared, and knowledgeable and broke down the rules for everyone in an easy- to-understand way.”

– MBA CLASS OF 2010

GLORIA PHILLIPS-WREN, PH.D. Associate Professor ofInformation Systems

“Professor Wren was so helpful and always made an effort to connect with students even after class was over. This kind of relationship is helpful because students feel comfortable going back to her with questions about their jobs.”

– MBA CLASS OF 2010

HARSHA DESAI, PH.D.Professor of Management

“Professor Desai provided us with some of the most valuable lessons in leadership—place yourself where you normally would not go, always ask questions, write your thoughts down, take notes when you hear something worth remembering or researching further, read as much as you can every day—out of this innovation will occur.”

“Working in this cohort, team-based environment really helps you build your networking skills and helps you gain exposure to other parts of companies that you wouldn’t get to see on a day-to-day basis. Not only does this allow me to expand my business knowledge—but it also helps me understand how other corporations work. Being in the MBA program has been a life-changing experience.”

crIStInA MulcAhy, MBA ’13National Sales Manager

McCormick & Company, Inc.

“After following my path from an in-house designer at Price Modern to managing 15 project managers across the country, I knew I needed to challenge my current processes and expand my perspective with outside viewpoints. The Executive MBA program gave me the ability to approach each new challenge with confidence and use what I’ve learned to develop a sound and effective strategy.”

louISe huMPhreyS, MBA ’11Director of MarketingPrice Modern

“I cannot help but reflect on my travels prior to, and being at, Loyola. I find myself longing for Saturdays, beginning with accounting bright and early and ending with mind mapping, but more importantly, the exchange of ideas from a bright, diverse, intelligent group of leaders all in one place, with one aim, to learn!”

cArlyle Schrouter, MBA ’12Finance and Accounting ManagerDel Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc.

“The weekend format allows me to continue my job in a leadership role at a local manufacturer that exports machines all over the world—I do a lot of international travel and I could manage my time. Exposure to the program and how they use reflection has convinced me to be more structured about that—I bring it into work activity all the time. It is a powerful tool—something I learned here at Loyola.”
