Dear Naginata Friends,

On behalf of Naginata Gorenkai I would like to invite you to the seminar that will be held on the weekend 26th and 27th February, 2011.

I am really glad that we can announce you that the seminar will be lead by Kanno sensei (Renshi) who you can remember from the demonstration of Jikishinkage-ryu together with Noda sensei (Hanshi) during the 10th anniversary of our affiliation to INF and ENF in Prague in 2009.

This time the seminar takes place in the largest Moravian spa of the Czech Republic - Luhačovice which lies in Southern Moravia in the valley of the river Šťávnice, surrounded by the wooded slopes of the White Carpathian Mountains (about 20 kilometers south-east of Zlín). All details about the ways how to get to Luhačovice you will find in the attached files.

I hope that you enjoy the seminar and exploring of picturesque spa of Luhačovice and its surroundings.

ABOUT LUHAČOVICEThe largest moravian spa Luhačovice lies in the south-eastern part of the Czech Republic - about 20 km from the town of Zlín. It is situated in the valley of the river Šťávnice, surrounded by the wooded slopes of the White Carpathian Mountains.

This spa is famous for its 16 sodium hydrocarbonate acidulous springs and one sulphurous springs which bubbles to the surface on the territory of Luhačovice. They feature often the goal for walks and journeys of not only the spa guests but also of people from the neighbouring areas. The first historical references about the chemical composition of the springs and the drinking cure was published in the 17th century. Nowadays these springs are used for the spa-treatment.

In Spa Luhačovice the illnesses of the respiratory tract and digest organs are mainly treated. Every year the spa is visited by lots of guests not only from the Czech Republic but from all over the world.

But Luhačovice is not visited only by patients but also by people who love culture and beautiful nature. Every year music and theather festivals are held here. The spa Luhačovice is closely associated with the famous czech componist Leoš Janáček who spent a lot of time here in Luhačovice, where he found a lot of inspiration for his work. People who like sports can find perfect conditions for hiking, cycling and other outdoor sports here. People interested in history or folklore are offered here by many possibillities for trips to castles, chateaux and wine cellars.
