Seminole County Schools offer breakfast to every student every day and at every school. Goldsboro offers breakfast at NO CHARGE to students. With so much focus today on our obesity epidemic, it may be a good time to take another look at our breakfast. Daily we offer low-fat milk, 100% fruit juice (or seasonal fruit) and an iron rich main item. Research continues to support eating breakfast as a way to improve achievement in school, feel more alert and to lessen the temptation to snack on unhealthful items. Take a new look at our menu which features old favorites like cheese grits with cinnamon toast as well as new offerings like our egg, sausage and cheese bagel. Take the breakfast challenge…join us for breakfast and see how much better you feel for the remainder of the day.

Dear Parents,
In 1991, the Florida Legislature passed the Educa-
tion Accountability Law. The intent of this
legislation was to provide parents, educators and
community leaders’ greater opportunity to
participate in the development of improvement
plans for schools. In order to determine our present
status, we are asking all parents to complete a
School Climate Survey. The twenty-five questions
on this survey deal with issues that educational
research shows to be characteristic of effective
schools. The results will report our parents’
general level of satisfaction and/or concern.
This year, we will once again utilize an online
electronic survey. The survey window will be open
from January 27th – February 28th. You may
access the survey through our school website,
Skyward Family Access or as follows:
Parent Survey in English:
www.surveymonkey.com/s/
ESParentclimatesurvey2014
Parent Survey in Spanish:
www.surveymonkey.com/s/ESParentSpanish2014
To access the survey on the SCPS website: go to
the District website at www.scps.k12.fl.us the
District website, click on PARENTS in the top,
horizontal menu, then click on the CLIMATE
SURVEY link in the left menu of the Parents page.
A fly-out menu will display for the user to select
the English or Spanish version of the Elementary,
Middle, or High Parent survey.
If you need access or technical support completing
the survey, please visit our school campus and
there will be online access available. In addition,
paper copies of the survey are also available by
request. If you have any questions or concerns,
please feel free to contact us at 407-320-5850.
Yearbook Cover Art Contest for 5th
Graders
All 5th graders are invited to submit
artwork to be considered for the yearbook
cover. Entries need to be on 8.5 x 11 paper,
portrait orientation. Any materials,
including crayons, markers, paint, collage,
and even photography and digital designs
can be used to create a colorful cover
image. Parents, feel free to help your
children think through what types of
imagery might make sense for a yearbook
cover. All imagery must be original. The
school’s name and the school year can be a
part of the image, but this not a
requirement. Deadline for submissions is
February 28th. Students can submit
multiple entries. Please make sure each
entry has the student’s full name and
homeroom teacher’s name on the back.
Parent Photos Being Accepted for

([email protected]) to have them
considered for the yearbook. You can also
submit pictures on a CD or forward a link
to a photo share site if that is easier.
