You have no doubt noticed that this newsletter looks a lot different! Your staff is intent on communicating the ministries of our church, the joy of following Jesus and the love of God in ways that engage people and encourage maximum participation in the activities of the congregation. One of the ways we think this can happen is the combination of a larger color monthly mailed-out newsletter and a reformatted weekly handout bulletin that includes more information, including each week’s records of giving and attendance. We can do this for about the same cost as our current weekly black and white newsletters. This week’s newsletter and bulletin is a sneak preview of this approach—let us know what you think! Both our newsletter and bulletin will also be available online or will be emailed for those who prefer digital formats. You may be added to that list anytime by calling the office. Jesus is called the “Word” in John 1—a reminder of how He is the living message of God to us and how important communication is. Our new sign, our mailings and handouts, our website—these are all designed to share the message of God’s redemptive love to our congregation and our community. Thanks for working with us to make that happen!
Your Church Staff
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
THANK YOU for the food, cards, visits and especially your prayers during the loss of our mother, Jean Evans.
The Rowe family
BEREAVED: Our Christian love and sympathy goes out to Fred Mayes in the death of his sister, Marilu Mayes, of Louisville and to the family of R. C. Johnson.
FOCUS ON MISSIONS James and Gina Park are South Korean/
American missionaries serving with the International Mission Board. They were
born in South Korea and after coming to the United States, felt called to tell people
about Jesus. They live and work in Puebla, Mexico where they find, encourage,
and train those who want to serve as missionaries. The Parks help Mexican
Christians follow God by leading Bible studies and planning mission trips. Their
teenage children, Joyce and Matthew, often take part by taking missions trips with
their parents to different cities. Prayer requests from the Parks include: that their
family will be a witness in their daily lives; that many Mexican young adults will
become missionaries and that their children will grow in their faith.
This is a prepackaged Mission
Trip open to families (1st grade
and up), couples and
individuals. For schedule and
cost information, go to:
wmu.com, search “mission
trips” and follow the links for
FamilyFest.
