Light the Way Workdays Students, faculty and staff are invited to par5cipate in early holiday cheer at this year’s Light the Way workdays on Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 5:308:30 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m.–noon in Marian Hall Ballroom. Enjoy free food and help prepare for the university’s annual ligh5ng. Oncampus community service hours are available for all student volunteers. Special  Message  from  the  Vice  President  for  Enrollment  Management  and  Student  Services  UIW  Community,As  we  begin  our  2013-­‐2014  school  year,  we  want  to  remind  everyone  of  the  football  game  day  procedures  for  parking,  tailga5ng,  and  5cke5ng.  We  have  also  included  informa5on  about  the  UIW  Volleyball  game  vs.  Texas  Tech  at  the  Convoca5on  Center  on  Sept.  16.  Due  to  the  large  crowd  expected  for  this  game,  special  guidelines  will  be  in  place.  If  you  have  any  ques5ons,  please  contact  UIW  Athle5cs  at  (210)  805-­‐3000  or  [email protected].    

 Football  parking,  tailgaGng,  and  Gckets

All  students,  faculty,  and  staff  with  a  valid  UIW  ID  receive  complimentary  admission  to  every  home  football  game.  Gates  open  one  hour  prior  to  kickoff.  Admission  into  all  UIW  Athle5cs  events  using  a  UIW  ID  is  good  for  general  admission  sea5ng  only.  For  reserved  sea5ng  op5ons,  contact  the  UIW  Athle5cs  Ticket  Office  at  (210)  805-­‐3000.  Tailga&ng

-­‐ Tailga5ng  is  located  in  the  parking  lot  behind  the  Natatorium.  This  area  will  be  referred  to  as  RALLY  ALLEY.  Live  music  will  start  about  three  hours  prior  to  kickoff.

-­‐ Tailga5ng  is  only  allowed  in  RALLY  ALLEY  and  reserva5ons  must  be  made  in  advance  through  the  UIW  Athle5cs  Ticket  Office.

-­‐ Tailga5ng  may  begin  five  (5)  hours  prior  to  kickoff.  All  tailga5ng  must  cease  30  minutes  prior  to  kickoff.  No  tailga5ng  is  permiied  during  the  game.

 Parking

-­‐ Vehicles  displaying  a  current  and  valid  UIW  parking  decal  may  park  on  campus  in  the  Ancira  Parking  garage,  or  anywhere  east  of  the  bridge  on  football  game  days  for  no  cost.

-­‐ Season  5cket  holders,  VIPs,  and  other  special  guests  will  have  designated  parking  areas  near/around  Benson  Stadium,  the  Convoca5on  Center,  and  the  baseball  and  sokball  fields.

-­‐ Parking  opens  at  1  p.m.  on  game  days  with  a  6  p.m.  start  5me  and  9  a.m.  on  game  days  with  a  2  p.m.  start  5me.-­‐ All  cars  must  be  removed  from  all  parking  lots  between  the  bridge    and  the  hill  (“athle5cs  complex”)  by  9  p.m.  on  Friday  

evenings.  Any  cars  lek  in  the  athle5cs  complex  area  will  be  towed.

 Volleyball  hosts  Texas  Tech  Tuesday,  Sept.  16  at  6  p.m.

UIW  Volleyball  hosts  Texas  Tech  in  their  home  opener  on  Sept.  16.  A  large  crowd  is  expected,  so  some  guidelines  have  been  put  in  place  to  ensure  the  safety  of  everyone.  These  procedures  ONLY  apply  to  the  Texas  Tech  game.

-­‐ Only  500  complimentary  student  5ckets  will  be  distributedo Student  5cket  distribu5on  will  open  September  16  at  10  a.m.  at  the  Convoca5on  Center  5cket  window.  Students  

must  show  valid  ID.  Only  one  (1)  5cket  per  ID.  No  excep5ons.o Students  who  are  not  one  of  the  first  500  to  receive  a  5cket,  or  students  who  wish  to  secure  their  5ckets  early,  may  

purchase  5ckets  star5ng  September  3.-­‐ Only  100  complimentary  faculty/staff  5ckets  will  be  distributed

 Become  involved  with  the  very  first  collegiate  Scuba  diving  club  in  the  City  of  San  Antonio,  Texas.      Classes  star5ng  Fall  2013,  held  in  the  Natatorium,  Tuesday  nights  at  8:30  PM.    Fall  2013  check-­‐out  dives  will  be  conducted  in  Cozumel,  Mexico  –  December  9-­‐13,  2013.    Cost  $225.00    Included:
