Touchscreen BenefitsThe 8461 SmartTouch features an easy-to-use backlit touchscreen. All it takes is the touch of a finger on the easy-to-read backlit screen to do everything. Operator training is fast…and easy to learn. Menus, instructions, and “Help” text are displayed for each function.

For quick PLU lookup you get 350 preset keys, with up to ten “categorized” preset pages (beef, pork, grinds, etc), with up to 35 PLUs per page. The SmartTouch screen is ALL that the operator needs…no manuals or keyboard overlays are needed. Only those keys, displays, and messages related to a given function are presented. Operators simply follow the instructions on

the screen, point, and touch. Fast opera-tion with fewer errors and reduced training time means increased profits. Once a PLU is called up, the weight, unit price, total price, sell-by date, and other associated information is displayed on the screen.

The “set-up” Menu provides a descriptive menu of all available setup/programming functions and options which make pro-gramming quick and easy. Label formats are programmable at the scale so that changing label formats is convenient.

Connectivity OptionsMETTLER TOLEDO® SmartTouch scale products provide you the flexibility to sup-port today’s network standards of Ethernet, TCP/IP, and RF while providing a migration path from existing scale networks. The expanded connectivity across your Local Area or Wide Area Network enhances the scale’s functionality by supporting remote administration of scale data and con-figurations settings. This can significantly reduce the time required to implement mer-chandising changes by sending custom label designs across your network directly

to the scales. The scale’s ease of use can be enhanced by remotely configuring the scale presets (PLU speed keys) to coincide with new or modified items. METTLER TOLEDO provides for a variety of scale network topologies including client/server, master/satellite, and standalone scales.

The SmartTouch Ethernet Master, (STEM) or Rackmount Ethernet Master (REM), can be hosted via serial or Ethernet, giving a single control point to maintain data integ-rity to all of the scales on the network. The STEM/REM supports your existing T-Net Satellite systems and newer Ethernet/RF Client scales simultaneously. METTLER TOLEDO also supports the latest wireless protocols, eliminating wiring.

The integrated Thermal Label Printer printer can print text, nutrition facts and safe handling labels that comply with FDA and USDA label requirements as well as any voluntary facts.

Enhance your merchandising opportunities with custom labels. The Model 8461 prints your custom graphics and label formats designed on the scale or on your PC using SmartLabel.

Bright Customer Display with Back-Light—Is easy for customers to read. Scrolling marquees can be used for cross merchandising.

Pull out Printer - For easy label loading. Large Label Capacity - Up to a 5” supply roll means less label changes.
