Extraordinary Ministers to Homebound
March 3rd
, 2019
Family Promise is an Interfaith National Organization that partners with local congregations who provide homeless families meals, a safe place to spend the night and achieve independence. Fifteen local churches are participating in the program and currently there are 3 active families. Families in the program are required to have a child, but the family members can vary and an adult in the family must be employable. After exten-sive screening, if the family is accepted, they hit the ground running, looking for a job, housing, or getting additional training to secure a job. The children attend school or daycare and everyone receives 3 meals a day, which is a blessing for some families. Thank you to the wonderful parishioners who helped with Family Promise on Feb 5 and Feb 7, 2019. The food and overnight people were Deborah & Bill Keller, Ingrid & David Gooch, Donna Shephard, Nancy Pekar, Mona Lockhart, Amy Castillo, and Linda Matthews.
If you would like to help with this program, please contact, Judy Hutka, 254-939-1944
