SHAWNEIS GOES TO EUROPE
My first international flight
was a success!
We have arrived in Paris…
My first impression……YES!!!!! French food is amazing!!!!!J
In front of the architecture stood a woman giving away free hugs! Accepting her offer made my entire dayJ
FIRST STOP, THE CATHOLIC CATHEDRAL OF NOTRE DAME
On the way back from Notre Dame, I stopped for a photo shoot at the Cien River…
While walking, I came across this guy…. Just sitting in mid air!
And a Youtube famous quick painter!
That night, some classmates and I watched fireworks to celebrate the French Independence day, better known as Bastille Day!
The next day, our marketing class went to see a fashion show!!
Can you believe this outfit
was 1,000 Euros?! We had
to try it on for fun.
I must admit… That fashion show… had me slightly inspired to do some modeling!
After the show, we took a boat tour…
Sara and I on the boat
But, what better way is there to end a day in Paris….
than a nice view from the top of the Eiffel Tower!
If you wait long enough, you can see the tower glisten in the night sky..so we did just that!
WE HAD LOTS OF FUN, BUT WORK MUST BE DONE! Throughout our visit in Paris, I had the great opportunity to visit 3
different dance apparel stores. I interviewed each store for my research project over the market of European dance apparel.
My research partner, Darren, did his project over the market of small clothing stores. One of his interviews in Paris was at a store called Champs! After visiting, I saw on Instagram that Daddy Yankee and a Miami Heat dancer went to visit the store just a couple hours after we left!
I Spent the last night in Paris with my friend Ally at the most amazing show in the world, The Moulin Rouge! Many outstanding dancers and acrobats graced the stage for us. It was the perfect ending to our French experience.
My new friend Sara and I snapped it up upon arrival in Amsterdam!
The next day, we took a nice walking tour down the canals of the city…
The first thing I noticed was an Asian peace movement going on right in the square that marks the center of the city. ..
Our tour guide took us to the Amsterdam Museum, where this guy was standing tall and proud…
In the museum, we also found the diversity map of carpet squares. Each square represents a different country that is represented by at least one of Amsterdam’s residents. Here is the U.S square!
When walking by the Anne Frank Museum, I noticed a triangle on the pavement. I was told that it represented equality, so I sat in itJ
Vondelpark was right next to our hostile, so I decided to take a morning run. As I’m running, I come upon the coolest tree ever! There is truly strength in natureJ
Duty calls! I headed out into the field to conduct some research at
Flevo/Sansha Dancewear.
Next stop… A class visit to Rotterdam!! a.k.a Bike Country
Rotterdam was only an hour away from Amsterdam, so we took the train over. Once we got there, we picked out our new rides…BIKES!
We rode our bikes to catch a beautiful boat tour.. Here is just a few of the nice views that we caught of the city….
After the boat tour, we rode on over to the Euromast to get an even better view of the city! The Euromast is the tallest tower in the Netherlands…
We ended our Rotterdam bike trip at a park where we were able to feed all of the little Bambies!
We said goodbye to Amsterdam with a night on the town! We joined the party as they welcomed the famous DJ GrandMaster Flash at Paradiso!!!! ps. That’s Darren….
Hello Berlin… Hello German Chocolates!! J
One of the first places that I went to visit was a concentration camp…
Sachenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial..
Prisoner’s Camp entry gate..
The Barracks where the Jewish prisoners slept..
Later that night, I took a trip to the neighborhood of Potsdamer Platz to see Ted 2 in an IMAX theatre! The night view was absolutely gorgeous as you can see.
The following morning, I interviewed the manager of Maison de la Danse! The other store that I planned to interview was closed for the holidays…. What holiday was that? I really don’t know……
Later in the day, the entire TNCIS group went to visit the capital building of Germany! We were able to sit in the room where parliament votes on issues, and learned a little bit about how the process actually works..
The next day, we shopped till we dropped at a discount store called PRIMARK. Tops were selling for only 5 Euros!!!
We spent our last day in Berlin at the BIGGEST zoo in the world!
My favorite animals were the Giraffes! They just walk so elegantly…
Through this experience, I was able to meet so many new friends, and make a million memories to last a lifetime….
….AND EAT SOME GREAT FOODJ
EUROPE…. THANKS FOR SHOWING ME A WHOLE NEW WORLD!
