One of the Middos is emes - truth. Is this not din - judgement as He knows the truth and judges accordingly, how is this rachamim? I saw an answer, humorous at first but very serious upon reflection. Too many people consid- er themselves righteous, be it in comparison to others or they just feel accomplished. The Talmud Yevamos (111a) teaches that Hashem is especially careful and scrutinizes and judges the Tzaddikim in a most exact and demanding way, which often could end in a most serious judgement. NURSERY SCHOOL NEWS In honor of Yom Kippur, the Early Learners are talking about sharing and taking turns with their friends and classmates. They had great fun playing a matching game, matching shapes that "like to be together." The children made their own shofarot and compared the different ways that they look, including wavy, curly, straight, long and short. They also dipped their hands in paint and chose a friend to share their handprints with. The Young Ex-plorers talked about the different things we do on Yom Kippur such as go-ing to shul, hearing the shofar and wearing white clothing. They also learned that on Yom Kippur we don't wear leather shoes and adults don't eat or drink. They enjoyed learning about Yonah and the whale and the ideas of teshuva , second chances and saying I'm sorry. They focused on the mitzvah of tzedakah and helping other people the way that Hashem helps us. They also decorated beautiful white tzedakah boxes. Shabbat Shalom and Gmar Chatima Tova!
