The Brix Group is notresponsible for issues arising from installations notperformed according to the procedures in thismanual. Do not install the unit where it may obstruct yourview through the windshield or of your vehiclesindicator displays. Do not install the unit where it may hinder thefunction of safety devices such as an airbag. Doingso may prevent the airbag from functioning properlyin the event of an accident. The installation and use suggestions contained inthis manual are subject to any restrictions orlimitations that may be imposed by applicable lawthe purchaser should check applicable law for anyrestrictions or limitations before installing and/oroperating this unit.   • WarningTake the following precautions to prevent fire andavoid personal injury: To avoid short circuits, never put or leave anymetallic objects (coins, tools, etc.) inside the unit. If the unit emits smoke or strange smells, turnthe power off immediately and consult your BrixGroup dealer. Do not drop the unit or subject it to strongshocks. If the LCD display becomes damaged or broken,do not touch the liquid crystal fluid. The fluid maybe dangerous to your health or even fatal. If heliquid crystal fluid contacts your body or clothing,immediately wash it off with soap and water.

    CautionTake the following precautions to keep the unit inproper working order: Be sure the unit is connected to a 12V DC powersupply with a negative ground connection. Do not open the unit.

    When replacing a fuse, use only a new one withthe proper rating. Using a fuse with the wrong ratingmay cause the unit to malfunction. To prevent a short circuit when replacing a fuse,first disconnect the wiring harness. When drilling holes to mount the unit, make surenot to damage wiring or other systems on theother side.

    NoteIf the unit doesnt seem to be working properly: Turn the units power off, wait 5 10 seconds,then turn the power on again. If the unit still mis-operates, turn the units poweroff, remove it from the cradle, wait 5 10 seconds,replace it in the cradle and turn the power back on. Ifthe problem persists, consult your Streamer dealer.

    FCC WarningThis equipment may generate or use radiofrequency energy. Changes or modifications to thisequipment may cause harmful interference unlessthe modifications are expressly approved in this

    User Guide. The user could lose the authority tooperate this equipment if an unauthorizedchange or modification is made.

    NoteThis equipment has been tested and found tocomply with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Theserules are designed to provide reasonableprotection against harmful interference in aresidential installation. This equipment maycause harmful interference to radiocommunications if it is not installed and used inaccordance with these instructions. However,there is no guarantee that interference will notoccur in a particular installation.     Cleaning the UnitIf the unit becomes dirty, turn its power off and wipeit clean with a soft dry cloth. Do not use hard clothsor paint thinner, alcohol, or other volatile solvents toclean the unit. These may cause damage orremove indicator characters.

    WarningDo not operate the unit in a way that might divertyour attention from driving safely. As a driver, youalone are responsible for safely operating yourvehicle in accordance with traffic safety laws at alltimes.

    Note: The SIR-STRVK1 Kit doesnt come with the shown cassette adapter because it has a wireless FM Transmitter.

    1. Determine where you want tomount Streamer. Do not install Streamer whereit may obstruct your view throughthe windshield or your view ofyour vehicles indicator displays. Do not install Streamer whereit will hinder your access to thevehicles controls. Do not install Streamer whereit may hinder the function ofsafety devices such as anairbag. Doing so may preventthe air-bag from functioningproperly in the event of anaccident. Find a location that providesgood visibility of and access toStreamers front panel. The Brix Group stronglyrecommends that you mount

    Streamer in a location where thebase can be attached with theprovided screws or on thewindshield with the providedsuction-cup mount..2. You can bend the leaves onthe base to conform to curvedmounting surfaces.3. Peel the covering away fromthe adhesive on the bottom ofthe base and adhere it to themounting surface. Use theprovided screws to securelyattach the base to the surface. If using screws, be sure thatyou do not damage wiring orother systems on the other sideof the mounting surface.4. Using the provided screws,assemble the docking station

    cradle to the base or to thesuction cup mount.5. Plug the cigarette lighteradapter into the back of the cradle.Dont plug the adapter into thecigarette lighter until theinstallation is completed.6A. Plug the cassette adapter intothe back of the cradle (SIRSTRVK2kit only). For the SIR-STRVK1 kit,tune your radio to one of four FMstations on the side of the vehicledock6B. If your car stereo has an auxinput, plug the supplied audiocable into the back of the cradleinstead of the cassette adapter.Plug the audio cables white (Lch,) and red (R ch.) connectorsinto your car stereo.

    1. Temporarily plug the antenna into the1-Sat/Terr (Main) connector on the backof the cradle until it is firmly seated.

    Best reception is achieved with the antenna mounted onthe roof or trunk for convertibles. If the vehicle has a roof rack or skid ribs, it may benecessary to mount the antenna off-center.3.The antennas powerful magnet will secure it to the metalsurface. Before routing the antenna cable, confirm that theantenna is mounted in a good location:4. Temporarily plug the cigarette lighter adapter into thecigarette lighter.5. Slide Streamer all the way into the cradle so that theconnector at the bottom of the unit makes proper contact inthe cradle. Press and hold the POWER button to turnStreamer on.6. If your Streamer has been properly connected and theantenna is receiving the SIRIUS signal you will hear audio.If you do not hear audio, the display will read AntennaError. Re-orient the antenna until you hear audio. (SeeAntenna Signal, on page 27 to use the ANTENNA SIGNALscreen to aim the antenna.) Make sure the vehicle is not in garage, or somewhere thesatellite signal could be blocked.

    Installation in a Vehicle: Running the Antenna Cable

    2. Route the cable from the antenna to thevehicles interior by tucking it underneath therubber molding around rear window, as shownbelow.

    For SUVs, minvans & 5-door vehicles, bring thecable into the vehicle under the rubber molding forthe tailgate, and continue under the interior trim.

    4. From the trunk, route the cable around thepassenger compartment and to the back of thecradle. Do not pull the wire across sharp edges that coulddamage it. Keep the wire away from areas where it couldbecome tangled in drivers and passengers feet.

    5. Plug the antenna into the back of cradle where itsays ANT.

    6. Plug the cigarette lighter adapter into the cigarettelighter. THE BRIX GROUP RECOMMENDSUNPLUGGING THE CIGARETTE LIGHTERADAPTER AFTER YOU TURN THE VEHICLESIGNITION OFF.

    2. Find an antenna location on a metalsurface of your vehicle at least 12" x 12",and at least 6" from a window. If you usethe included antenna mount (SIR-STRVK1 only), install the mount on theupper portion of your side-view mirrorbracket.

    Installation in a Vehicle: Mounting the Antenna1. Turn Streamers power off and remove it fromthe cradle; unplug the cigarette lighter adapterfrom the cigarette lighter; unplug the antenna fromthe cradle.

    3. Route the cable from the lowest point of therear window into the trunk. Take advantage of anyexisting cable channels or wiring conduits.

    Installation in a home with the SIR-STRHK1 kit (sold separately)Note: Do not put Streamer in the docking station until you have completed the installation.

    1. Plug the audio cables miniconnector into the back of thecradle, as shown. Plug theaudio cables white (L ch,) andred (R ch.) connectors into youraudio system.

    2. Plug the AC cord into thepower supply, then plug thepower supply into the back ofthe cradle, as shown. Dont plugthe AC cord into a wall outletuntil the installation iscompleted.

    3. Plug the antenna into the backof the cradle until it is firmlysecure.

    4. Due to the paths of SIRIUS satellites over theUS, the best location for the antenna in yourhome depends on where you live. Use the mapbelow as a general placement guidelinesomeexperimentation may be needed to obtain the bestresults. In major US cities, you may also be able toreceive the signal from SIRIUS ground repeaters,which may allow you to place the antenna awayfrom a window. In all cases, since the antenna isweather-proof if necessary you can also locate itoutside, clear of any overhead obstructions. (This isespecially important if your house has an extendedroof or extended window frame structures.) Seepage 30 for more information about using theANTENNA SIGNAL screen to aim the antenna.

    POWER Button : Turns StreamerOn and Off; exits the Stream, Category,Song & Artist List modes.Encoder Knob & Select Button:Navigates through display screens andmakes selections of items highlightedon the display. (CW) Clockwise-increases or moves up in the menus.(CCW) decreases or moves down inthe menus.CATEGORY Up/ Down Button:Navigates through Category List Screenwhich displays Sirius StreamCategories.Display (DISP) Button: Changes textsize of artist names and song titles.Menu Button: Used to access menuoptions to make set-up and featurechanges.

    Preset Number Buttons (0-9): Sets and selects presetstreams.Memory (MEMO) Button (S-Seek Function): Saves andrecalls artist names and song titles. You can store up to 20artist/song title combinations.Band Button (P.Tune): Pressing and releasing switchesbetween preset banks A, B, and C, which hold 10 presetseach. Pressing and holding enables Preset Tune Mode,which allows for viewing and listening of stored presets withturn of navigation wheel.Remote Control Receiver: Receives signals from theincluded wireless remote control.

    POWER Button : Turns Streamer on and off.CH+/ CH-/ CAT+/ CAT- Buttons: Navigate through streams, categories,and display screens.Mute Button: Mutes audio.PREVIOUS (PREV) Button: Navigates back to previous stream.DIRECT Button: Accesses streams directly by number.SELECT (SEL) Button: Press to select items highlighted on the display;hold-down to jump to the previously-received Stream.MENU Button: Enters and exits the Setup Mode.MEMORY (MEMO) Button: Saves & recalls song & artist information; setsParental Lock code number.DISPLAY Button: Changes text size of artist names and song titles.BAND Button: Switches between preset bands A, B, and C.Number Buttons (0-9): Selects streams directly and by preset.

    Activating your SIRIUS SubscriptionBefore you can listen to Streamer, you mustsubscribe to SIRIUS Satellite Radios service.1. Make sure that Streamer is properly connectedand that its antenna is oriented to receive theSIRIUS satellite signal (see Installation sectionsfor details).2. Press the power button to turn Streamer on.After displaying the SIRIUS logo, Streamer willupdate all Sirius channels. The display will readUPDATING STREAMS on the top line and X%Completed (0%-20%-40%-60%-80%-100%) onthe bottom line shall be displayed by the Streameruntil the update completes. NOTE: Dont push anybuttons or perform any operations untilupdating has been completed. Once all updatedSIRIUS channel streams are received, the displaywill change to Call 1-888-539-SIRIUS toSubscribe and will place you in SIRIUS SatelliteRadios Preview Channel. Channel 184 is theSIRIUS preview channel. You will not be able totune to any other channels until you activate yourSIRIUS subscription.

    4. Hit the MENU button to enter the Setup Mode.5. Turn the Encoder Knob left (counter-clockwise)until Sirius ID is highlighted. Push on theEncoder Knob to select Sirius ID. This willdisplay your units unique 12-digit SIRIUS IDNumber. This SID number should also beavailable on the Streamer packaging. Write thenumber down and have your credit card handy.

    6. Contact SIRIUS on the Internet at: https://activate.siriusradio.com/ Follow the prompts toactivate your subscription. You can also call SIRIUS toll-free at 1-888-539-SIRIUS (7474). The operator will instruct you.

    Removing Streamer from the DockTo remove Streamer from the docking station,press the button on the underside of the unit andgently slide Streamer out of the cradle. Replace itby sliding the unit all the way into the cradle so thatthe connector at the rear of the unit makes propercontact in the cradle.

    Basic OperationAfter you have successfully activated your SIRIUS subscription, the Normal Operation screen willappear (bottom, right): Use the Encoder Knob select streams. The selected stream will automatically play the name and artist of the currently-playing song and willscroll across the display. If you want to listen to a different entertainment category, push the CATEGORYbutton up or down to activate the Category Select screen (top, right):

    1. Use the CATEGORY button to scroll through musicand entertainment categories.2. When the category (ex. Rock) you want is highlighted,use the Encoder Knob to highlight the stream you wantto hear.3. When the stream you want is highlighted, press theEncoder Knob to listen to the stream. The display willrevert to the Normal Operation screen for that stream.(bottom, right)4. If you decide not to select anotherstream, press and release the POWERbutton to exit the mode. The display willrevert to the Normal Operation screen forthe active stream.

    Selecting MusicIn addition to the Normal Operation andCategory Select screens, STREAMER hasthree ways to search for and select music: bystream, by artist, and by song.

    Selecting Music by Song Title (Song TitleList Mode)1. While the Normal Operation screen is active,press the DISPLAY (DISP) button three times.The Song Title List screen will appear, showingall currently-playing songs regardless ofcategory (below):

    3. When the artist you want to hear ishighlighted, press the Encoder Knob to listento them.

    Selecting Music by Stream (Stream ListMode)1. Press and hold the DISPLAY (DISP) button fortwo seconds while in the Normal Operation mode.The Stream List screen will appear, showing allavailable streams regardless of category. (below):

    1. While the Normal Operation screen is active,press the DISPLAY (DISP) button twice. TheArtist List screen will appear, showing allcurrently-playing artists regardless of category(below): If composer information is available for astream, it will be displayed along with the artistinformation

    Selecting Music by Artist (Artist List Mode)

    Direct TuningStreams can also be directly accessed by pressingthe Encoder Knob and using the 0-9 number keysto numerically enter the desired stream. Once thedesired stream number has been entered, pressthe Encoder Knob again to play the desired stream.

    Setting Stream PresetsYou can store up to 30 of your favorite streams aspresets, for quick access. Presets are stored in 3banks, A, B, & C, each containing 10 streampresets.1. Press the BAND button to activate the presetbank you want. The selected bank is shown in thelower left corner of the Default.2. Select the stream you want to preset (see BasicOperation and Selecting Music)3. Hold the number button you want to storethe stream in for at least 2 seconds.

    2. Use the up & down arrow buttons to movethrough the streams. If you stop on a stream it willplay.

    The selected preset number will flash and thenremain lit on the display to show that it has beenmemorized. If the preset button already has a stream storedin it, it will be replaced with the new stream.

    Tuning Stream PresetsThe 6 presets in the active bank can be selectedby pressing the 0 9 buttons.2. When the desired preset bank is displayed,use the 0 9 buttons to tune the desiredpreset stream.

    NOTE: The field will scroll only if the length of theartist or title cannot be viewed in its entirety.Pressing and holding the Display button will enterthe stream list mode.

    While in the Stream List mode, any subsequentpress of the DISP button will display programinformation by Artist Name or Song Title. Pressingand holding the DISP button will exit the StreamList mode and return to the previously selectedtuning/display mode.

    Searching for a Stream PresetTo search by list for a preset, press and hold theBAND button to enter Preset Tune Mode (P.TUNE).While the contents of the preset listing is displayed,rotate the Navigation Wheel to navigate through thelist. When the desired selection is highlighted,press the Navigation Wheel and the stream will beplayed.

    Preset Tune ModeWhen in the P.Tune Mode, press and hold theDISP button for 2 seconds; this exits normalpreset tuning and enters a 6-line menu modewhich displays the Preset number (A-1), a singlespace and the 20-character stream name. Whilein the Preset List menu, pressing the DISP buttononce will change to Artist List; a second press ofthe DISP button changes to Song Title List. (nextpage, top)

    Display ButtonPressing the DISP button from the Default displaytoggles between the artist name, song title fieldsand large character size. In doing so, this willchange the character size and cause the field toscroll. This feature is useful when viewing thedisplay at a distance.

    Memory Button (S-Seek Function):This feature allows the user to capture and storethe current program definition text- PDT (Artist &Song title) with a total of 20 listings(20 Artist/SongTitle combinations). The unit also has thecapability to search the current incoming Siriussignal and alert the user when a saved song isbeing played.

    1. While the Shuttle is in either of the twostandard display modes, momentarily pressingand releasing the MEMO button stores the currentprogram data information within the Shuttlesmemory. A Memory Stored pop-up screen,followed by X Used / Y Empty will each appearfor 1 second.

    2. By holding down the MEMO button for 3 seconds,the stored memory information (one at a time) isdisplayed on the LCD screen in page format. Usethe Encoder knob to scroll through the 20-pagelisting and view the information. This functionallows you to recall information regarding the Artist/Song Title for your own personal review.

    Turning the Encoder Knob highlights the optionsand pushing the Encoder Knob selects theoption.The S-Seek option implies S-Seek On/Off,with the default setting as S-Seek On.

    4. Each time the Streamer is turned on, itautomatically searches the incoming signal todetermine if a match exists between the signaland the currently saved information stored inreceiver memory. If one or more matches arefound, a pop-up screen momentarily appears for 2seconds and displays the Phrase S-Seek Alert. Anaudible beep tone will be heard indicating that amatch has been found.

    The display then reverts to the S-Seek Alert screenwhich displays the current matches. You can nowselect the Artist/Song Title that you wish to listen to.

    No stored match alert is provided for the currentlyselected stream. To ensure that no duplicateentries are stored in memory, the receiver willcheck the stored input data to ensure theinformation about to be stored is not already inmemory.a. If one or more matches are found, a display listappears, and allows you to scroll through thelist of songs using the Encoder Knob. Once a songis found, it can be selected by pressing theEncoder Knob, and the display will revert to eitherof the selected display modes.

    5. If the MEMO button is pressed to save aselection currently playing, and all of the memoryspaces are full, a prompt screen alerts you to thepossibility of accidentally overwriting a memoryspace with new information.

    If the MEMO button is pressed to save a currentlyplaying selection, and all of the memory spacesare full, S-Seek Full will flash on the display for 1second, followed by a pop-up screen presentingthe Replace-Cancel options. This prompt allowsyou to make the following Replace/Cancelchoices: (Next Page)

    a. By selecting Replace, the memory list willappear, and you can use the Encoder Knob toselect the information that you would like tooverwrite with the new Artist/Song Title. Afterhighlighting the selected title in the list, pressthe Encoder Knob to delete the stored Artist/Song Title, and replace it with the updatedinformation.b. By selecting Cancel, the prompt screen woulddisappear and revert to the original screen.

    Menu Display OptionsTo enter the Menu Options page, press and holdthe MENU Button for 3 seconds. The Menu Optionslist will appear on the LCD display.

    Sirius IDDisplays your 12 digit Sirius ID number. Noadjust ments are allowed in this mode. To exitthis option, press the Encoder Knob or MenuButton.

    Display SettingsThe following adjustments are possible:Dimming ControlContrast ControlTo enter either of these modes, use the EncoderKnob to highlight the option you wish to adjustand the press the Encoder Knob. Upon enteringeither of these modes, a 10 segment horizontalbar graph is displayed with a - sign to the leftand a + sign to the right.

    FM Transmitter OptionsThe following adjustments are possible:

    FM On/ OffUpon entering this mode, rotating the EncoderKnob toggles between the FM ON or FM OFFfunction/display selection. To select and exit thisfunction, press the Encoder Knob. (No buttonactivity for 10 seconds will also exit this function.)

    Stream Add/ SkipUpon entering this mode, a stream list shall bedisplayed with the current stream in playhighlighted. Rotate the Encoder Knob tonavigate the list and highlight the stream to beadjusted. Once a stream has been highlighted,pressing the Encoder Knob displays the textSkip next to the stream, and prevents thestream from being accessible during any of thetuning modes. Skipped streams can only beaccessed either through direct stream numberentry or by returning to this menu and goingthrough the same process to return the skippedstream to the list. Adding a stream will removethe text Skip from alongside the streamnumber/ name.

    Lock Options

    Upon entering this mode for the first time, the user isprompted to enter the four digit numerical code that isused to lock/unlock stream access. All future entriesinto this mode displays a stream list with the currentstream in play highlighted. The Encoder Knob Wheelis used to navigate the list and highlight the stream tobe adjusted. Once a stream has been highlighted,pressing the Select Button displays the text Locknext to the stream and prevents the stream frombeing accessible during any of the tuning modes.Locked streams can be accessed only by directstream number entry, at which time the user will beprompted to enter the previously stored 4-digit code.Once the correct code has been entered, the audiobegins to play. The stream returns to the lockedstatus if the stream is changed or the vehicle/unit isturned off (or by returning to this menu).

    Upon adding a stream, the text Lock is removedfrom alongside the stream number/name.

    Lock/Unlock Default Code FunctionThe first time the Lock/Unlock function isaccessed, the user must enter the default lockcode. The default lock code is 0000. This codecan be maintained or changed. To change thedefault lock code perform the following procedure:1. Press and hold the MODE button to access theUser Menu.2. Rotate the Encoder Knob to select the LockOptions.3. Press the Encoder Knob.4. Rotate the Encoder Knob to highlightEdit Code.

    5. Press the Encoder Knob.6. Enter the default code 0000.7. The New Code prompt will appear. Enter yournew four digit code using the 0-9 nymber buttons.You will then be prompted to confirm the new codeby entering your code again.8. The lock code is now changed.

    Edit CodeUpon entering this mode, the user is prompted toenter the current four digit numerical code beingused to lock/unlock stream access. Once thecorrect code has been entered, the user isprompted to enter the new 4-digit code twice. Thesecond entry is requested for confirmation.

    Audio LevelUpon entering this mode, a 10 segmenthorizontal bar graph is displayed with a - signto the left and a + sign to the right. The currentsetting is indicated on the bar graph. Rotatingthe Encoder Knob will adjust the bar graphaudio level indication and audio gain,accordingly. To select and exit this function,press the Encoder Knob. No button activity for10 seconds will also exit this function.

    Antenna AimingUpon entering this mode, a 10 segment horizontalbar graph is displayed with a - sign to the left anda + sign to the right. The current setting isindicated on the bar graph. Moving the antennalocation adjusts the bar graph signal strengthindication, thus ensuring optimum reception.To exitthis function,press the Select Button.Antenna Aiming

    Memory OptionsIn this mode, the user can turn the Memory SearchFunction (S-Seek) ON or OFF. In addition, all 10Memory Locations can be cleared. On the display,the top line displays the text Memory Options.

    1. Automatic Memory Search function - On or Off.Use the Encoder Knob to select between the 2options by highlighting the desired selection. Thenpress the Encoder Knob to enter the option.

    2. Clear all Memory Locations. Momentarily pressthe Encoder Knob; a prompt display screenappears confirming - Are You Sure? Select Yesor No and press the Encoder Knob.

    Time Based Features

    Alarm Clock:When this menu option is highlighted and selected,you will be able to set the unit to turn on ata specific time. The last selected stream prior toshutdown will be present when the Alarm featureis activated. Alarm appears on the first line of thedisplay followed by the alarm options:

    Set Alarm (Default-Off)Use the Encoder Knob to toggle between AlarmOn or Alarm Off and press the Encoder Knob fordesired alarm status.

    Time (Default-12:00pm)Use the Encoder Knob to increase (Clockwise) ordecrease (Counter Clockwise) the alarm set timein a circular motion on one line in the middle ofthe display from the default value (12:00pm). AM orPM will switch automatically when the AM or PMthreshold has been exceeded. When the desiredtime is displayed, press the Encoder Knob.

    Program Alert:When this menu option is highlighted andselected, you will be able to program the unit toswitch to a selected stream at a specific time. Onthe display, Set Stream Alert will occupy the toptext line.

    The following adjustments are accessible:

    Time/Day (Default-12:00pm, Monday)Stream (Default-Currently Playing Stream)Program Alert On/Off (Default-Off)

    Time/Day:Rotating the Encoder Knob toggles betweenTime and Day. If Time is selected, use theNavigation Wheel increase (CW) or decrease(CCW) the set time in a circular motion on one linein the middle of the display from the default value(12:00pm).

    AM or PM will switch automatically when the AM orPM threshold has been exceeded. When thedesired time is displayed, press the NavigationWheel.

    If Day is selected, the screen displays a defaultday of Monday, with selectable choices of Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,Saturday or Sunday. Use the Encoder Knob toincrease (CW) or decrease (CCW) the desiredday in a circular motion on one line in the middleof the display from the default value (Monday).

    Stream:Rotate the Encoder Knob to scroll through a listingof all the Sirius streams in a circular motion.The listing should encompass all 6 availablelines. When the desired stream is highlighted,press the Encoder Knob.

    Program Alert On/Off:Rotate the Navigation Wheel to toggle betweenProgram Alert On or Program Alert Off. When thedesired alert status is highlighted, press theNavigation Wheel.

    The following options are available in this mode:EnabledDisabled (Default)

    Rotate the Encoder Knob to toggle betweenEnabled and Disabled. When the desired shutdown status is highlighted, press the EncoderKnob.

    Auto Shutdown:In this mode, you have the option of programmingthe unit to automatically shut off after a 1-hourperiod without any user intervention. After 59minutes of inactivity, a beep tone sounds, and adisplay prompt appears on the screen, stating

    Cancel Auto Shutdown.Press the Navigation Wheel to terminate thefuction temporarily.

    Sleep Mode:In this mode, you have the capability ofprogramming the unit to shutdown after a selectedperiod of time. The screen displays Sleep Mode onthe top line, with optional time settings as follows:
