• Site setup• Site planning• Site budget• Current challenges• Expected barriers against FC Bus
operations
3 Site setup
• ENI Magliana Nord has been identified as high-potential site:– Visibility (Rome area on motorway to Fiumicino)– Proximity (close to main italian 3EMOTION players)– Possibility (commercial/industrial/municipal sites)
• Leverage on existing H2 distribution hardware (2006)
• Negotiations on-going with ENI (site leaser) and ANAS (site owner) for utilization within frame of 3EMOTION
• Creation of a juridical (non-profit) body for site management within 3EMOTION (bills, certificates, authorizations)

The Plan:• Revise & upgrade current Alkaline
electrolysis system to 20 Nm3/h capacity• Revise/substitute H2 compression system• Revise & enlarge H2 storage system• Revise/substitute H2 dispenser• Install biomass gasifier + PSA
scrubber for green H2 production• Trucked-in H2 for back-up/supplement
7 Site setup
The UNIfHY project:• FCH-JU project ending in 2015• Development of a biomass gasifier with in-
situ gas cleaning and PSA purification for HRS-grade H2 production
• Proof-of-concept at scale ongoingTo be done:• Transfer of reactors to HRS site• System integration with elyser
(purification, compression, storage)• Operated 5 days (80 kg H2) a week
