General Overview:

WEATHER- Southwest Monsoon is affeding the whole country. At 4:00 AM today, Tropical

Depression "Maring" was estimated based on available data at 470 km east of

Itbayat, Batanes (20.4oN, 126.9oE) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph nearthe center. lt is forecasted to move east at 9kph.

ANALYSIS:o The threshold that was set by Cordillera RDRRMC to implement pre-

emptive evacuation is 150mm continuous rains.

o For the past 2 days, moderate to heavy intermittent rainfall is experienced in

Baguio city, Benguet and Abra. Rain fall in Baguio city for the past 2 days

has been recorded at 148mm. Soil saturation is feared, that it might

trigger landslide incidents and flash flooding at flood prone areas.

o The effect of Enhanced Southwest Monsoon threatens Cordillera, most

especially those residing in mountain slopes and flood prone areas.

o The ar6as that were damaged by Typhoon Labuyo is expected to. beaggravated by this SW monsoon. Roads that were recently opened to

SITUATION

ABRAo Sweling of Ahra river is reported affecting BANGUED Municipality (the

capital town). Streets of Brgy Sta Rosa and Kabuluan are experiencing

flooding. A pre emptive evacuation to affected communities is being

organized bythe MDRRMC Bagued and PDRRMC.

o Eight landslides along the pads of San lsidro, Bucay and Pidigan were

reported. Affeded roads are closed to traffic.

o San lsidro bridge already overflowed.

BAGUIO CITYo Experiencing continuous rains

o Attended to minor inciderts of minor erosion and fallen trees

o Monitoring the water level at Brgy. City Camp Lagoon-

BENGUETo Tublay: Pre emptive evacuation is being prepared for the residents of Brgty

Amabassador, sitio Mamuyod due to possible landslide

t Baguio - Dalupirip and Beckel road closed to traffic.

o Gunel - Bokod - Kabayan - Abatan road closed to traffic.

MT PROVINCEo Bailey bridge along Cagayan via tabuk - enrile road was damaged and

under repair.

Actions taken:

OGD.CARo ocD-cAR maintains the BLUE ALERT STATUS to fully focus on

monitoring, information dissemination, and public warning for the

possible etfects of the enhanced Southwest monsoon in the region.

o Scheduled a live local media interview to warn the publi0 on the

impending threat of landslides and flash floods.

r Close coordination with concerned DENR - MGB, DPWH and

pDRRMOs. All PDRRMOs are on alert status and monitoring their

area of jurisdiction.

. Continuous monitoring of the LDRRMO especially MDRRMOof

Tublay for pre-emptive evacuation. ln addition, coordinated with AbrapDRRMO for possible evacuation of affected residerits in low-lying

areas.

o lnformation Dissemination through Smart lnfo board is continubus due

to the enhanced monsoon rains.
