The EPQ All pupils studying A-levels will supplement their chosen courses with the Extended Project Qualification, which will see students –

Professional Pathway BTEC Applied Science

• Investigate a subject from outside their A-level courses that they are interested in – e.g. sociology, business, economics, politics, computing, literature, photography, engineering etc.

• Receive focused Academic tutoring support from subject specialists

• Experience university-style tutorial- based study.

• Develop their independent learning and critical thinking skills.

The qualification is highly regarded by universities. An ‘add-on’ for only a small number of students in most Sixth Forms, the EPQ is central to our curriculum vision at Bolingbroke.

For students who wish to access higher level study or employment in Science through a route other than A-level, our Professional Pathway could be the route for you.

Professional Pathways is an innovative programme of study offered at Sixth Forms across the Ark network designed

in close collaboration with partners from the commercial and public sector. At Bolingbroke, those on this pathway will study towards the BTEC Extended Diploma, worth 3 A-levels, in a programme that integrates academic study with extensive work experience opportunities, work readiness and career mentoring programmes.

The EPQ is central to our curriculum vision at Bolingbroke Sixth Form.
