Front Cover• Masthead: not conforming to usual
magazine codes and conventions - placed in the lower half.
• Typography: serif font throughout - gives the impression that the school is more “posh” and suited for an A, B demographic.
• No cover lines - not following usual codes and conventions. Demonstrating how this magazine may be targeted to a more niche market.
• Background: collage of images of artwork. Implying the school is art-orientated and a very creative community. A very vibrant background - connotes a diverse society within the school.
Contents Page• Main image: a watercolour of the
school painted by a student - demonstrating the student’s achievements. Gives the magazine an authentic style and emphasises how the student body is important to the school.
• House style: maroon text - connoting prestige and wealth, serif typography - authoritative. Deep red is also the colour of the school website and school uniform. The school colour - identity.
• Simple layout - easy to distinguish what is what.
