e Continued support and promotion of the Women’s Studies Minor on campus. Development of a full and vibrant calendar to celebrate Women’s History Month through
March, including bringing to campus Dr. Yaba Blay, from Drexel University, who spoke about The Politics of Black Beauty and Colorism.
Continued to build our ongoing relationship our civic engagement program and with Brandywine Global Programs, to ensure academic involvement, continued community service and opportunities to study abroad.
Faculty, staff, and students directed, starred in, and promoted The Vagina Monologues on campus the weekend of March 22-23. We raised $717, and 10% of the proceeds went to VDay/City of Joy and the balance to Family Support Line, a non-profit in Media, PA, that serves victims of child sexual assault.
Hosted our annual Women’s Commission Luncheon at the end of March. Our keynote speaker this year was Emilie Ninan, the current President of the National South Asian Bar Association. Our luncheon this year honored Gail Wray, staff assistant in Academic Affairs, and student and THON Chair Jessica Magginis.
Further development of our student population creating an actual student organization through the office of Student Affairs. We will also continue to work closely with that department to ensure that key women’s issues are highlighted within other clubs and service organizations on campus.
