College planning can be tough these days for beginning students, returning students and students just looking for ways to cut costs and stretch their budgets. To avoid bias advertisements students should choose nonprofit organizations to help. Most of these will end with (gov.), (educ.) or (org.). The College Planning Network (CPN) is one such program that can enlighten students from the first steps of planning to the last.

There are programs that can help you find the valuable information you are looking for. Get the facts-stay away from biased advertisements that lead you astray.

In this Power Point my main goal was to answer the question of, “What kind of presentation would help my students succeed after high school?” Too many times I’ve seen students simply give up because things weren’t as easy as they anticipated. The slides I have chosen will assist students of all income brackets in finding funds to help with their college tuition. The slides are meant to be informative as well as fun. In most of the slides students can also click on the pictures to further their search. Finally, I purposely stressed, “Don’t give up. Find the help you need. Investigate government and non profit websites.” They are usually less biased concerning colleges of choice.

I would have to say my three “Wow” points in creating this Power Point were pretty exciting. First, coming up with the idea; not just another lesson for my young people, but something they could really take with them to really make a difference. Second, I learned a lot myself. You know, not quite knowing were to go or what to do and finding out how to on the web was scary and fun; I have to admit, God gave me wisdom when I thought I had none. I hope my students have as much fun as I did learning, searching and finding out their futures. Last but not least the feeling of actually accomplishing something not just for me to say, “Yes I learned a couple of things,” but finding several websites I really believe can make the difference in a graduate’s life. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did making it!
