Protecting ourSince October ourcommunities have had the

Communitypower to protect those localfacilities that we value. Itmeans we can list, and secure, things like the local school,

local playing fields, the localpub or shop.

If developers want to come andbuy these assets in the future we

would then have the power tostop them, and then we wouldhave six months to raise themoney to buy them for our localcommunity.

But to do this we have to makean application to Snodland TownCouncil to get them on a list ofplaces to be protected.

This new piece of law was

brought in by the Lib Dems inGovernment to help protectplaces we value from developers.
