DESCRIPTION
Social media isn't a fad, it's a revolution. Learn how we are preparing faculty and students at Valencia College to use this tool. Valencia College has created a variety of ways to prepare students, faculty, and staff in the utilization of social media. Through our digital professor program a new course emerged called "Teaching and Learning with Social Media." This presentation will cover how to build your own course to prepare faculty in the utilization of social media. In turn, this helps prepare students in the utilization of these emerging tools. Participates will walk away with a understanding of important areas to cover, such as concepts, tools, ethical, legal, and teaching practices in social media. Discussion will take place with participate on what is needed to prepare faculty, staff, and students in utilizing social media inside and outside the workplace.
