“The Cultural societies have been exceptional during the Autumn Term as we have been seeing a growing number of societies being more active than before. There have been a growing number of collaborations, events and workshops and I can’t help but feel ever so proud. This term will be an even more exciting term as we will be having One World Essex and it would be an excellent time for societies to come together to showcase and share your culture. We have a number of events such as the Parade of Flags, chalking on the squares, Global Exhibition Gala, Food Festival etc. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me as I am always there to help!”

Leadership Race:the Rules

Page 20: Societies Guild GM 14 th January 2016. Welcome Committee Reports

During the period from 'Close of Nominations' to one day after the ballot, no literature, other than approved election publicity, should be released advertising the names, descriptions or descriptive parts of names of any candidates.Societies can continue to distribute newsletters and other appropriate material providing that this material is distributed to only the club or society’s membership and that it makes no reference to any of the candidates standing. Posters publicising regular society meetings or event should also contain no mention of the elections or any candidates.

This applies to anything connected with the leadership race – not day-to-day activities of the society.
