Solar and Storage leading the low carbon transition
THE NEC, BIRMINGHAM, UK | 4 – 6 October 2016

“ I found this year’s event extremely worthwhile, especially in the face of uncertainty caused by Government policy. It was good to hear a lot of resilience in the market and positive attitude to continue and diversify and the seminars were excellent for information gathering.”Drew Clough, Product Manager, Npower

The No.1 event for solar and energy professionals – from the roof to the smart building and from centralised to decentralised energy
*UK installed almost 4GW of solar in 2015 after record-breaking Q4More solar was deployed in Q4 2015 than any previous fourth-quarter period, Solar Intelligence (Solar Media’s market intelligence arm) recently revealed. A total of 805MW of solar was connected to grid under various deployment schemes in the final three months of 2015, taking final deployment figures for 2015 to 3.906GW.
SOLAR ENERGY UK EXPO Solar Energy UK 2015 was Solar Media’s most successful event to date, with an increase in attendee numbers to almost 5,000. This year’s 7th edition of the show, Solar Energy UK 2016 (strengthened by Clean Energy Live) will add new, exciting
features and is being designed to show that solar is not slowing* down and will continue to disrupt traditional energy sources. Combining solar with other technologies such as storage, EV’s, smart energy management and more, makes good business and environmental sense.
2016 SOLAR MARKET OPPORTUNITIES 2016 heralds an exciting new year for UK solar, evolving and transitioning into a post-subsidy marketplace. Energy end users are focused on reducing prices and mitigating supply risks and building owners are seeking the best low carbon, efficient solutions. Viable solutions are being delivered on land, roofs and carports and in the O&M sector need their portfolios serviced.
What does this mean? Solar’s time has really come, this is the beginning of a new age of solar energy – it’s evolving from the margins to the mainstream. And half of Europe’s 2015 solar deployment (nearly 4GW) came from within the UK alone!
ANNOUNCING CLEAN ENERGY LIVE!Continuing and evolving from Solar Energy UK’s previous energy+ brand, an exciting, new development for this year’s show connects various professionals and industries to deliver cost effective, low carbon solutions through Solar
Energy, Energy Storage, Energy Management and Renewable Heat. Solar must be better integrated alongside these compatible, con-nected technologies and to re-flect the importance of combining clean tech and Solar Energy UK will become the core component
of a broader, supporting exhibition - Clean Energy Live. This will open up new market segments (eg. integration of solar and storage) and bring whole building energy solutions to the mainstream.
One shared floorplan to maximise attendee
and exhibitor effectiveness

Solar Energy UK: Set to shine brighter than ever before in October 2016Around the world, the future for solar energy is assured, however in order to accelerate the adoption of solar, it now needs to be better integrated alongside compatible, connected technologies, such as Energy Storage, Energy Management and Renewable Heat. In order
to reflect the importance of combining clean technologies and using Solar Energy UK as the foundation, this year we are incorporating Clean Energy Live to bring together key stakeholders and energy professionals from the broader clean technology supply chain.
Taking place at the NEC, Birmingham between October 4th and 6th, the show will demonstrate how renewables, energy efficiency, the Internet of things and smart technologies can all connect to maximum effect.
In addition for the first time,
the show will include a Clean Energy Home, which
will enable visitors to evaluate more than 20 technologies as they
appear when installed.
Reaching over 300,000 relevant prospects online, in print and at live events worldwide.
FIRST-CLASS CONTENTNowhere will this theme be more evident than in the show’s first-class content programme; dozens of demonstrations and presentations will be delivered through very popular, purpose-built theatres on the show floor. Firm favourites from previous years such as Installer Central and the Solar Business Theatre are set to return, and the introduction of the Clean Energy Live brand will also bring additional free content to the show floor (outlined below), adding even more value for visitors.

“Good change of direction - energy needs to be looked at as a whole system in a building, organisation, city, country. smart solutions are needed to move away from fossil fuels and reduce greatly our energy consumption even while moving ahead with technological advances.” Jody Lockyer, Bristol City Council
