works of mercy in our community”

We are working together with Catholic Charities and the other three Catholic Churches in our ar-ea to furnish food and help to the needy. We are asking now for food donations for our distri-bution center.

Our church has been assigned green vegetables and canned meals such as soups, ravioli, etc. If each family could find it in their heart to donate one can a month we would greatly appreciate it.

There is a box in the foyer of the church. We will be asking for more volunteers in the near future. Please dispense with it’s donation of clothes at this time.

Thank you and may God Bless!

The flowers on the altar

cor Catholic Church, for a dialogue on the Gospel of

the day (Mark 9:38-43, 45, 47-48). In the news seg-

ment, hear stories of the diocese, the region, the state,

and the world. In the second half hour, on From the

Prayer for Hurricane Safety

O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed your order and returned to its former quietude. You are still the Master of the land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control: the Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy and overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season, we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with the pass-ing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our Be-loved Mother, we ask you to plead with your son in our behalf, so that spared from the ca-lamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem where stormless eternity awaits us. Amen.
