First Annual East End Trauma SymposiumSaturday, October 14, 2017 | 7:30am – 12pmA CME conference designated for 3.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™

Schedule of Events Statement of need: With the ever changing nature of trauma care, medical knowledge and evidence concerning pediatric and neurosurgical trauma are constantly evolving. Additionally, it is imperative that we continually refresh on the proper transitions of care, as the trauma field is inherently diverse. This CME activity will focus on areas of uncertainty regarding trauma systems and transitions of care, as well as provide new insight into aspects of neurological and pediatric trauma that may not have been explored before.

Program objectives: All Northwell Health CME activities are designed to improve patient care, safety and outcomes. At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to:

– Review the neurological implications of trauma and the most current best practices in treating these issues

– Implement strategies for the initial management and stabilization of pediatric patients

– Explain the importance and degree to which transitions of care come into play specifically in trauma care

Target audience: Trauma, Critical Care and Emergency Medicine care providers, Emergency Medical Technicians, Ultra Sound Technicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Pharmacists.

CME accreditation: Northwell Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit designation: Northwell Health designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 3.25 AMA PRA Category 1Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Continuing education credits: Northwell Health Institute for Nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Provider #:
